for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
Life without her beloved mentor had continued to progress with some degree of normalcy, enough so that it made the young witch uneasy. For the entire first week she busied herself with mending the fence and damage done to the yard. She ensured that her neighbors minds remained hazy on the details of not only that night be the days to come until the town house had reclaimed it's facade of perfection. The shop had be far harder to retain, as Serafina found out. She was mostly preoccupied with taking orders, keeping schedules, and maintaining a pay roll of an account she didn't have access to. Everything about the affair was entirely bizarre and half of the time Serafina was certain that when she turned around she'd find the police ready to take her in or, quite worse, a dark hunter ready to murder her. Some nights, the young witch almost wished he as still alive...almost. Sadly, today was quickly shaping up to be one of those days. She'd spent her entire morning fielding phone calls from prospective clients regarding special orders they'd put in that she knew absolutely nothing about. One of their...her....part time girls had called in sick leaving the witch entirely alone in what she quite honestly felt was becoming a sinking ship. The alchemist shop used to be one of her favorite facets of her life and now she was beginning to realize there was much more to running an establishment like this on her own then she had originally thought.

Never the less, Serafina was determined to maintain the life she'd built for herself and it was that reason she'd hung the "closed" sign on the front door with a bag over her shoulder and an address to some place in the upper north side of town. She happened to be lucky when he'd called, his order, whatever the wrapped thing was, had been set aside within her mentor's office. With a cab hailed Serafina found herself quickly on her way to her destination where she was promptly deposited on the door step of a rather exquisite hotel. Her lips pressed together as she eyed the stone front. The Witchery by the Castle. It was famous. It was exactly the kind of place couples saved up for on their honey moon trips. It was the kind of place women longed to be taken to. It was the sort of place an murderous orphan witch would never belong. She sighed softly as her gaze traced over the golden letters of the front sign, pressing her hand against the solid wooden doors. She pushed the heavy entryway inwards, stepping quietly into the lobby.

She glanced down at the paper in her hands, frowning when she noticed that the man had forgotten to leave a room number. Serafina hated trying to talk her way into things though it was a task she sometimes was forced to endure, if not for a little help of magic. With one final wayward glance given about the place, the girl made her way towards the front desk, surprised to see someone hardly much older then herself at the counter. "Hi there, I'm from The Edge of the Circle. One of your guests ordered a package from me. I believe his name is Rupert? He didn't give me a room number." There was a soft sigh on her lips as if the girl was wondering once again why she was bothering with this particular trip. As it was, such special order items tended to be rather costly and it was that income that Serafina was counting on. It hadn't occurred to her that the woman she was speaking too was the owner of the place, no more then it had occurred to her that she might be a witch of all things. In fact, she didn't quite notice until she glanced back up at the female from the paper she held with the man's info written down. Her head tilted slightly to the side as she stared at the woman, a simple "Huh...." falling from her painted lips. Well that was unexpected.
