kissing death and loosing my breath

Serafina had never been one to particularly dwell upon what if's and could be's. She dealt only with what was occurring in the here and now, having learned at a young age that such thought processes only tended to lead her down dark paths. She'd been surprised at the masquerade to find the peculiar enigmatic warlock present and even more so that he'd made the effort to dance with her when so many chose not to. However, the young girl held no immediate hopes that Davante was going to attempt to pursue her in a more consistent intimate manner. Too many promises had been broken to the young girl throughout her life to be able to take the man's words and actions too deeply to heart. She had brushed the notion off entirely, continuing on with her life regardless. Things had finally begun to settle down as Serafina adjusted to her mentor's death. Her world had regained some stability once again, her mentor's contacts continuing to reach out to her for the mean time whilst she continued to offer whatever lies her tongue could weave to keep them returning. The fence had been fixed since that night, his body still in the ground where she'd put him and for once Serafina had allowed herself even the smidgen of hope.

The young witch had only just closed her shop down, having had to spend a long night to produce a potion required for a client who was supposed to come in the next day. She was tired and hungry. A soft sigh left her lips, as her keys fell on the shelf next to the entrance. Boxes filled her living room with her mentors things as she slowly began to remove his entire existence from all aspect of her life. She flicked on the living room light, wandering towards the sofa as she unceremoniously fell against the comforting embrace of the microfabric. There was a yawn upon her lips, her hands raising to her mouth. Unfortunately, Serafina hardly got the chance to get too comfortable before the ringing of or door bell stirred her. The girl groaned, momentarily considering not answering but the aspect of guests was strange enough in itself to pull her from the couch. She maneuvered towards the door, momentarily concerned that the police had finally caught on to her mentors disappearance, though how she had no notion.

Hesitantly the young girl opened the door, her eyebrows furrowing as her grey tinged gaze fell upon no other then the warlock. Serafina stared at his sparkling crystalline gaze for a moment, taking in the figure of the man in front of her. "Did you somehow trip and break everything on the way to a date or something? Or are you killing your date?" She inquired, her feminine voice laced with a hint of a sardonic tone. Serafina had no reason to think that his attire or the articles in his hand were for her. After all their meetings consisted of whirlwind adventure in which someone either got maimed or killed. She glanced back towards the car running in front of her house, immediately adding a new option to the table of possibilities within her future that she was hardly looking forward to. "Don't tell me your date got hurt while waiting for you? And you're what, taking me to her?" She regarded the man in front of her with a hint of suspicion, choosing to finally fall silent to let him answer just what he was doing on his porch dressed like that.
