Oh mercy, will it overcome us

Existing in a place where there were relatively no familiar faces had begun to prove exhausting. Creating a new life for yourself took copious amounts of time, effort, and in many cases a sort of heartbreak that loneliness lends itself to. The kind of loneliness that prevents you from doling out sweet smiles to strangers and exchanging kind words that were bubbling somewhere near the surface. While solitary in nature, Bethel had grown accustomed to the company of the others in her family and close knit circle of her reptilian pack (so to speak) in her home of Salem. Even then, she had grown accustomed to the company of witches and warlocks who often reigned over their pack, utilizing its magical properties in the relationship that could be forged between animal and human... Or were and witch. While she had previously detested that someone might have the ability to control her, Bethel had almost longed for the sense of familiarity once and a while when the nights had been a little dark when she had first moved to the city. And now? Had it been for any other circumstance, Bethel may have even been pleased to make the acquaintance of the redheaded vampire who had longingly offered her blood in order to help the were heal quicker. Bethel had refused quickly, not in spite but out of pain-filled confusion. She had never dealt with vampires before the city, not really anyway. How would she know that it would work, especially when it had been the vehicle of the vampires that had struck her? If it had been under different circumstances, Bethel would have approved of the delicate and expressive way the woman had handled the situation. Guilt was clear, written upon her face in every language. Instead, Bethel felt the snake stirring as if begging to be the one to control their form and remove her from the danger of unknown beings.

It was within the arms of the man who had been effectively been helping Isolt navigate the murky waters of what exactly to do in order to help the Anaconda that Bethel found a spark of trust forming. Had she not been injured, she would have been interested in them and their stories and anything she could find out. With the injuries having trouble healing on their own as they should have been due to the were-nature, that interest was not really applicable and she found herself lulling in and out of the sounds of voices coming from the growing group. How had they gotten that far, anyway...?
With familiar scents assaulting her somewhat dampened senses, Bethel slowly turned to look at the group. The hunter was familiar- he had been at the door at the masquerade and it was with that memory that her trust for the redheaded vampire began to blossom further. Clearly, she wasn't a fan of him either. So why was the witch who she had desired to see... not as perturbed by him as Isolt, the other were, and Bethel? At the sound of her name, though, Bethel melted with a sense of security that Serafina had remembered her.

Granted, it is relatively difficult to forget a snake nearly 29 feet long, and whose human form represented something incredibly feminine, and exotic.

Bethel wanted to strain and tell Isolt that this is the witch that she had been looking for. Serafina had helped her with the pain of her shifting... She would be able to help understand why the were was having problems healing...Right?
