She laughs softly before telling me her plans for when she was alive. Of course all the women dreamed of having a family and settling down with kids and a loving husband. That is every woman's dream. Now me? I wanted to finish my time with the army and run my father's plantation when he was gone. I could have any woman I wanted because of our family's money. Of course, I only had one in mind but she had other plans for me, deciding she wanted me and my brother and couldn't choose between us. All that's in the past now and Catarina can do as she wishes. I have my own life to live.

Of course, it is logical to run a bar when you can only have a life at night. Still, there's so much I'd rather be doing than sitting in a smoky bar all night watching others have fun. She shrugs a little before her gaze drops to her fingers, playing delicately with the rings on her fingers. I'm sure it's just an old habit. I tilt my head, eyes gleaming.

"Hunting has always been my distraction from everything else, not the other way around. I respect your lifestyle, I do. I just don't see the grandeur of staying in a bar when you could be anywhere else."

I shrug lightly, hoping I didn't offend her. I look up as the bartender comes over, only glancing up at her this time before he pushes two glasses of ale toward us. I raise a brow, not used to such attention but I'll take it. I grab the glass and raise it subtly in his direction, my token of thanks but he turns his back. I'm not even sure he saw. Most likely he did and he's just ignoring me. He murmurs to her before turning away. I see nothing wrong with enjoying the fine things in life. Since we can't really get drunk, why not taste everything and live it up a little.

She changes the subject to Sacrosanct, saying that it has an appeal and it seems to attract supernaturals even if no one's heard of it before coming here. She does have a point, saying she doesn't have to hide what she is. I nod in agreement.

"It does feel more freeing to be out and about. I'm still waiting for the stakes and pitchforks."

I smirk a little to show it was a joke, hoping she has a sense of humor. As she raises her glass to her lips, I raise my glass in a toast and drink my own, savoring the taste. She tells me that there's no vampires to bother with and tells me about the club that a vampire owns. She can only mean Syn where Risque calls home. I wonder how they get along. I am amused by her final comment about being rubbed up on though.

"Ah, you must mean Syn. I've been there once or twice. It's okay for a quick break from reality, I suppose."

She seems to study me a lot, as if she's not sure if she can trust me. I have no way to convince her either way and I know I'm not the easiest to trust. In fact, I would never try to encourage someone to trust me. What would be the use in that? There is a stereotype about vampires hanging out in clubs and bars and I do tend to do just that but that's not all there is to me. There's also cemetaries and mansions. I do like mansions. I tilt my head with curiosity as she tells me she may have a place for me here. I wasn't aware I was in a job interview but it might be nice to have something to do every once in a while. I follow her glance toward the bartender.

"If there's no uniform, then I might consider it."

I offer. I glance around before looking back at her.

"So, when you're not here, what do you do for fun? Mini golf or are you more of the skeet shooting type?"

My eyes sparkle. Call me curious. There's nothing else to do so why not get to know my fellow vampires?
