South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

If Archer suspected even a hint of her true intentions he would have harnessed his full power against her. Once before he had been tricked by a pretty face and guile that had led to the ultimate betrayal for him. He had felt his heart shatter when he realized things were not right. Part of him even now twinged in desire to be back where he was with the fae woman before. He had felt intense love for her but in truth it was the poison of her power. It dug deep and shredded him from the inside out. He could have fallen back into the dream that it was real and damnit if he hadn't been tempted but he had realize with a heart shattering clarity that it wouldn't be the same.

So he left her despite her protests then her warnings and then her wrath. He left her amid his own inner turmoil and the pain in doing so. And he had been given his curse in response to one foolish choice. By being blind and stupid. It wasn't so hard to think that he would make the same mistake twice. Even as a fae he still possessed the mind of a human, the heart of kindness.

Part of him warms at the sight of her huddled in his jacket. A spark burns in his chest and his blue eyes remain on her, rapt, even though he wavers inside. He thought being fae meant that the otherness of his species was no longer an issue. That he wouldn't be so taken with their beauty but Blaise proved him otherwise and he is stuck with the uncomfortable knowledge that he felt an attraction to her. Still, Archer was of the old fashioned variety. He could neither ask for more or attempt more without time and courtship and he wasn't yet sure he was ready for either of those.

The pain distracts him from the curious expression on her face. If he could hide it he would but it was out now. He tenses at the flash of her teeth and hiss, his own eyes glowing in the dark now and brightening by the second as waves of his power wash across them. It might throw Blaise off for their surroundings flicker and change into that of a log cabin with a crackling fire. It was his safe haven back decades ago, now left to rot. And then the world snaps back into place.

Her voice is serious now and he pants, suddenly bending in on himself. "It is my curse," he says unable to hide it anymore as his face contorts into pain. "I must find a creature now!" And then he turns and lunges into the brush his sense heightened to hear the rapid beat of a squirrel nestled in a small hole in a nearby tree. Before he can stop himself he reaches in, snatches it, then bites into the poor creature. It squeals only once then flops dead in his hands as he sucks the blood from it, his back straightening with each pull as his energy replenishes and the pain fades.
