South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

The summer boasts long days and short night, which sucks for a creature such as myself but what are you going to do? The wind is nice and cool, a refreshing respite from the humidity in the air. I'm wearing faded jeans with holes and a plain black tshirt, hardly anything special. Bright blue gaze roams over the park area, taking in the populace at a time like this. The sun has just decided to go down and I was waiting on pins and needles in my mansion for it to do so. I wake up long before the sun sets and have to find things to do inside until I can safely step out. It pays to have special curtains that block out all traces of UV light. It's better than being stuck in a hole in the floor all day, which is what I used to do. Now I have more luxuries. I can have an actual bedroom with an actual bed and actually walk around my house without the fear of roasting to death, literally.

I can still see the sun's long shadows if I look in certain places so I'm careful to avoid those areas. My skin gets tingly if I get close, the hairs prickling immediately and I can even smell faint burnt hair if Ig et too close. I stick to the shadows of the buildings and the trees until I can trust myself to step out into the open. Meanwhile, I watch. There are lots of kids still out, running around like they own the place whiel their parents or baby sitters sit on benches, messing with their cell phones or lap tops, far too preoccupied to admit that they can actually see the children they're supposed to be watching. It's a sad sight, really. The kids run all over the place, some even climbing trees. The only time you see an adult look up is when a kid falls down or runs into something and then you hear the crying and there's the blubbering mess with the tears and the kid is screaming blood murder like he or she just got stabbed. Only then do you see an adult look up. They all look up in unison too, all wondering if it's the kid they're supposed to be watching. What a fucking disappointment.

My eyes land on a woman off by herself crouched over what looks like the remains of an ant hill. Her piercing blue eyes stand out more than usual but I can smell the magic in her blood from here. A witch. My lip twitches, the only sign of my usual opinion. Most witches I've met in my lifetime attack first and ask questions later. I've only had bad experiences with them. Of course, I do try to keep an open mind. I run a hand through my hair with a soft sigh, watching intensely as she bends over the ant hill, her features scrunched up with concentration. My brow shoots up as the hill starts rebuilding itself. I'm sure the little bugs will be grateful. How...interesting. Once she's done with that, she straightens up and heads off in a new direction with purpose so I follow.

I stick my hands in my pockets and wander along behind her, far enough behind to seem like I'm merely heading in the same direction but most witches and warlocks are paranoid anyway so it probably won't matter. I can sense the newfound pleasure in her gaze as she looks over this new area with a fountain and benches. It looks like a lot of hard work has been put into this and my bets are that she's the one who did it. Of course, I'm sure she did it in well under half the time of a usual person. She seems quite proud of it though. Unable to help myself, I clear my throat.

"What are you, some kind of nature buff or something? You a vegan too?"

My eyes gleam with curiosity as I tilt my head, watching her. I've stopped where I started talking, not wanting her to think I'm stalking her or trying to get close to harm her or something. I keep a close eye on the level of tension in the air so I'll know if she plans to attack well before she actually does. I look around and then continue.

"It's a nice place. Did you create it?"
