South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Miyako just looked so overwhelmed by the whole thing that it made Malia feel bad because she didn't want Miyako to feel uncomfortable at all around her. She wanted their easy friendship back but she knew there was no turning back now. Miyako must be feeling so many things and while Malia was eager to share with her, Miyako only seemed hesitant to know anything, like she was still put off by knowing there were supernatural things out there. She looked around the diner for a minute before asking about Miyako's vampire friend. She couldn't help her curiosity. She just had to know! Miyako sighed before saying that he did drink blood but not human blood. Malia tilted her head and wrinkled her nose, about to ask what he drank but something in Miyako's expression stopped her. It was like she didn't really want to talk about it, maybe because she still hadn't quite wrapped her own head around it. And then she looked so relieved when Malia pulled the subject around to herself that Malia couldn't bring herself to drag Miyako back to the subject of blood drinking vampires. Maybe another time then.

Miyako seemed pleasantly surprised that Malia knew how to order something this time, where as the last time, Miyako had to order for her. Malia's menu may still be quite short but she was working on it. She was glad Miyako was still curious about her shifting and stuff though. It made her hopeful that everything would work out. She nodded. "Yeah, I always have my own mind. I did all those years as a coyote. If anything, I just have more animalistic instincts because of how I was raised." She shrugged. She could sense the need to understand in Miyako's eyes as she asked the questions and Malia didn't take offense at all because she WANTED her friend to understand, more than anything. She wanted her safe and not in the shadows where it would be unsafe for her not to know. It seemed to help Miyako relax and just let the conversation flow naturally when Malia talked about her own past. She didn't mind talking about it as much anymore. Miyako asked about her parents and Malia looked down at her drink for a minute before sighing.

"I don't know. I can't remember my parents. I only remember being in the coyote pack as a pup and being raised as one of them by a coyote that adopted me." She chewed on her bottom lip and looked up at Miyako, wondering for a moment if she could help. Then she leaned forward across the table, her voice lowering. "But I do have this dream that I've been having since...well, since ever. It has two humans in it in the front seat of a car or something. A man and a woman. They looked human in the dream anyway but I'm not sure now that I know about Were's. I think...I think it may be my only memory of my parents." She offered a soft smile, wondering what Miyako would think. Would she call her crazy? Then Miyako asked about her first time shifting and she scowled at the memory that came to mind. "Stupid Hunters. They shot me in the leg with an arrow and tied me up and threw me in the back of a van. I freaked and in my panic attack, I shifted. It was horrible." She shivered at the memory.

When Miyako asked if she could tell her something, Malia nodded eagerly. "Of course." Her eyes lit up, hoping to entice Miyako to talk to her. Then Miyako explained that she's always been frightened of animals. Malia's eyes widened. She could think of a million questions but instead she just smiled and slowly reached out to touch Miyako's hand. "I promise you don't ever have to be scared of me. I would never hurt you. You're my best friend."
