South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. The University places a high focus both upon educating future generations but also on research to help revolutionize the world. South
dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Walking father along that path, she stumbles across that drinking fountain and the memory of that autumn afternoon comes rushing to the front of her thoughts. It is impossible for the young woman not to smile as she remembers how abruptly Dorian had stopped in his strides, lifting those black sunglasses from those sterling silver eyes as they settled fully over that structure of stone and concrete like he'd never seen anything close to it before. At first, she had been puzzled at his reaction, thinking to herself how they were so common at every school and park back in her hometown, and she'd only grown more curious remark at how he hardly ever drank She'd wondered at first if he meant that he didn't drink water, which in and of itself seemed both unusual as well as unhealthy, but now the blue-eyed blonde understood with great clarity what it was that he'd meant. Fae folk didn't need to eat or drink like humans did. Granted, the very idea of never feeling one's stomach clench in hunger or that ever pesky heacheadche that Beylani herself would get if she didn't drink enough water to stay hydrated still very much baffled her, but she had hardly a moment to ask Andras anymore these days, those old curiosities practically forgotten in his presence that she yearned to surround herself in. All the same, she'd since decided that it might prove to help distract her another time, when another of those heated moments might find them as they so often did. Shoving away those thoughts that so adamantly seemed to veer yet again to the fae man she was so hopelessly in love with, she focuses on instead on how Dorian had been so fascinated by something that couldn't be more ordinary for her. Holding that camera gently in her hands against her breast, a wistful smile finds her lips as a gentle and ever so soft note of laughter trickles over her gently parted lips at how crestfallen Dorian had been when he had discovered just how unexciting his discovery of that very drinking fountain was. She truly needed to spend more time with the kind and proper man. Just maybe he could help her to cope with those feelings she simply couldn't tell Andras.

Leaving the drinking fountain behind, she walks across the snow now, the soft crunch of snow giving beneath her weight as she strode over the small hill the same way that she and Dorian had that day. When she reaches its highest point, a single evergreen rooted deeply into the soils standing along there, she pauses for a moment beneath those rustic smelling boughs. Admiring how there were icicles darling from the lower branches, how the clear baby blue sky and sunlight would touch them, making them gleam and glow in the sunlight that offered little to no warm on this cold winter afternoon, she brings that camera to her face and clicks the shutter button. She lowers the device then, baby blues looking down to the screen as she observes the snapshot she'd taken. Satisfied with the lighting and quality, she decides to keep it. Before looking up to see if perhaps there were birds somewhere on the rich emerald needles, gleeful laughter catches her attention and has Beylani looking out across the park. There she finds a small group of children, giggling and squealing with delight as they chased after one another, their parents tagging along a small distance away as the man and woman walked hand in hand. Just like that, she feels that tightness in her chest as she watches the children playing in the snow, the boy reaching down to grab a handful of snow only to pack it together and thrown it at one of the other boys that evaded it, though not without slipping and falling. He was quick to pick himself up though, the man and woman hardly concerned as they continued to trail after the three rambunctious boys. Beylani had always wondered if she would have family for her one one day, and seeing that family down there, so happy together in the wintery white wonderland that surrounded them, it made her heart ache that much more. Andras will make such a good father someday... She can feel that swells rising in her throat beneath the threatening waves of emotion that crashes against her will. She swallows the tears that wanted to fall over those softly flushed cheeks pink with the touch of that cold air. It seems that today the world was determined to make her feel everything that she was trying so hard to run from for just a little while.

Forcing those thoughts down once again, she moves down the hill and onto the path that would lead her to the dirt track that Dorian had showed her. It doesn't take her long before she's nearly halfway there, knowing now by heart that the beautiful trail lined with trees on both sides was on the farthest side of the vast park. She'd taken Elain there several times, the honey-blonde woman always eager to be a model for Beylani and a very much welcomed distraction from thoughts of the fae man. At least, when Elain herself wasn't trying to pry for more information about Andras, asking silly questions about what it was like to kiss him and if there had been fireworks... Sometimes, it seemed that Elain would make it even harder to keep those thoughts away so that she could enjoy the scenery like she was once so easily capable of doing. Perhaps that was why Beylani wandered through the park alone today, not particularly happy with the fact that she just couldn't get him out of her mind for whatever reason. It was a struggle that she was hardly even able to convince herself that put wholesome effort into. She'd been so caught up in her thoughts as she walked over that paved path that she hadn't noticed the faint sound of another walking somewhere behind her until she stops once more, baby blue eyes catching sight of a blue jay hopping through the white snow on the side of the paved path. She is about to move the camera up to her face then, when something, someone startles the feathered creature and it snaps open those sapphire blue wings and takes to the sky. Only then does the smell of cigarette smoke reach her senses, the young woman turning to look behind her, flowing and elegantly curled locks swirling gently around her shoulders with the sudden movement.

Baby blue eyes widen in surprise for a moment as she sees the man leaning cooly against the truck of a tree a short distance away from her now, a plume of gray smoke from his cigarette streaming from his mouth as he released it into the air. The man's dark navy blue leather jacket, black shirt, and dark jeans were practically opposite to the turquoise double-breasted trench coat, blue jeans, knitted white scarf, and black boots she wore. He looked no older than Andras appeared, but her gaze quickly finds his ears and notices that sultry point to them, revealing him to be another fae. Hadn't Dorian told her that fae folk were rare to find in the world anymore? Why was it that she seemed to draw them to her, then? Those amber eyes, they stood out fiercely against his complexion and dark hair, a predatory look to them as they trailed slowly, hungrily over her features. It wasn't like how Andras looked at her, though... There was something... dangerous about this man that makes her hesitate for a moment."Oh. Hello. I, um, didn't see you there", she says gently to the man then, a shyness finding her sterling voice then as she offers him a small, polite smile. His own tenor tones slip effortlessly from between his lips, that British accent thick over every syllable. It was almost alarming at how much colder the air seemed to get as they fell into the air around them. She remains firmly where she'd stopped on the paved path, watching him carefully, that faint flicker of curiosity diluted by the warnings that both Dorian and Andras had given her about how other fae were far from being as kind and warm as they were. But, surely this fae man wouldn't try and hurt her out here in the open... right? She gives him a puzzled look as she tries to understand what it was those cryptic words had meant."I'm sorry, have we met before?", she asks curiously, almost cautiously as she searches his face for any suggestion that they had. She didn't recognise him from the local market, nor did he seem like a face she might have seen at the café. Why was it then that she couldn't shake that look that he gave her, like he knew her? Perhaps a wiser woman would have abruptly turned and left, but suddenly her feet seemed heavy, almost frozen in place as she battles between trying to be polite and wanting to excuse herself, waiting for him to do or say something that might put her unease to rest and make her feel embarrassed at the uncertainty she was currently captive to. And yet... she couldn't shake that feeling.
