South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Beylani could hardly imagine a leading the same life as Dorian. It was never something that she'd ever had to really think on much, having grown up in a small rural town with a small family that worked day in and day out to ensure that their only child was well taken care of and had a bright future in whatever it was that she would one day want to pursue. To have been born of royal blood, it was hardly something she ever concerned herself beyond that childing imagination of being a princess in a tower and having tea parties with her stuffed animals like most little girls did when they were so young with make-believe games as wild as their imaginations would allow for them to go. It was hard for her to think of everything that the fae man might have to endure, having so many other people looking to him for guidance and leadership. Then again, she couldn't even imagine the life that Andras would have to lead either. The two fae men were far from average beings, likely having known nothing but the life that they lived and were fated to live for the rest of their immortal lives. She couldn't even fathom the pressures that they surely had to feel from time to time, if not more often than they might ever admit to. She couldn't imagine the lack of respect for privacy that such a lifestyle would be subject to. After all, she was entirely aware of the attention that celebrities and artists got when they so much as stepped out into "the common world". She's seen plenty of stories on the news about alleged things revealed about them, however true or false they might be. There was an image that was expected, and the moment that any in such a class might falter, it would surely be seen by someone and their good name likely at risk for being tarnished if not entirely ruined. While it was nothing that the blue-eyed blonde ever needed to worry about, that didn't mean in the least that she didn't think of what Dorian and Andras might have to go through. Andras seeming more capable to living a much quieter life, but who was to say that if the world knew about him he would not have to have security detail like her companion meeting her for luncheon today? It all just sounded so... stressful. She had enough in her life was it was, she couldn't even imagine enduring such a thing alongside her own emotional war that refused to give her peace for more than a few brief moments these days.

Unable to hide the happiness from her baby blue eyes when she saw the fae man, their greeting seeming to draw a little attention from the other customers of the bistro, she simply pretends that there was only Dorian and herself here in the little eatery, the fae man seeming just as content to pay no mind to the men and women that looked over to their table, clearly interested to some sort of degree on what he might be doing here, and with her no less. It was hard for the young woman not to feel like she was being judged by them, sized up as they might wonder what her relation to him was. She dismisses the mild concern that brushes ever so fleetingly against the back of her mind. Let them think what they wanted, draw whatever conclusion their minds would. One was only responsible for one's own way of thinking in the end, and if there was anything that Beylani of the world that they all lived in, it was unfortunately a common thing for unfair judgment or false realties to be drawn from only what others saw or heard, too many no longer taking the time to ask themselves exactly what it was that they were looking at or hearing. That was the terrible truth behind modern-day gossip she supposed. And at this thought, she could hardly help but what about how things truly were back in Dorian's time, finding that she may have just discovered a means of keeping the topic as far away from Andras as she could. Besides, there was a vast difference between reading something out of a history book in school and actually be able to speak with someone from a time that was almost entirely forgotten from the minds of the younger generations. Beylani had always had a fascination about those more proper times, so surely if she ran out of questions about how his days had been treating him and his fiancé, how his holidays were, and how the wedding plans were coming along, she would be able to distract herself with those old curiosities that seemed ever harder to dwell on as those more emotional wants and fantasies overwhelmed the young woman. A soft chuckle falls from Dorian as his silver gaze finds Beylani's own baby blue depths, that warm smile etching into his lips as he agrees with her statement on how long it had been since that afternoon tea party â€" something that she hoped they would be able to do again soon when he had a spare moment in his surely full schedule.

As she goes on to tell the fae man about her holiday, she finds it impossible to figuratively side-step the sudden appearance of those hazel depths that made the young woman have to catch her breath every time Andras turned them onto her. Quickly shoving that devilish and bold smile that haunted her wherever she went, she was happy escape them as Dorian begins to speak of how his holiday had been. The blue-eyed blonde listens intently, a bright smile dancing across her lips as she can so clearly see how happy he'd been to spend that special time of year with those that were closest to him. It was easy for the young woman to imagine how much fuller that smile of his had surely gotten being surrounded by those that he cherished. After all, she could remember with great ease how much she had laughed and smiled when she had been surrounded by her family when she'd returned to Willowhaven for Christmas... how easily she'd smiled and laughed as she danced at the heart of Somnia with Andras as he took her hand and led her into the center. How he'd laughed, those hazel eyes so full of happiness that was enough to make her heart burst... She missed it, being in that moment with him as they spend the day exploring that festival, when they'd exchanged their gifts to one another... when she'd fallen asleep in his arms on that bed in the cabin he'd had made just for her... It was the ache in her heart that was enough to bring her back to the present, those cheeks suddenly growing warm at the mention of Andras. So much for having escaped the fae man she so cared for... Dorian gives her a knowing look then and she can fele her fair-skinned cheeks growing ever warmer, his words having surprise flicker across those baby blue eyes."Court? As in...", she starts off softly, her sterling voice trailing off as she looks out the window into the middle distance. She certainly knew what Dorian was implying, what that word meant... Was that what that night had been?"I'm not so sure, Dorian. But I certainly had a wonderful time", she finishes finally when she turns back to the fae man's silver gaze as she offers him another smile, attempting once again to push away those memories though now she finds herself thinking back to that afternoon tea party, laughing gently at the expression Dorian's features took on at the memory of how Andras had practically teased the other fae man to death. So many fond moments, it just seemed impossible for him not to consume her every thought and feeling... no matter how hard she might try.

Thankfully for the way that Dorian's attention seems to readily move onto the topic of the big wedding, Beylani can see within those silver eyes, how he seemed to shine as he spoke of how through plans were all coming together. It warmed the young woman to see the fae man so happy when he spoke of thay special day that was coming ever closer. There is a change in those silver depths though when suddenly he makes mention of vegetarians. It was hard for the woman not to feel a tinge of amusement beneath the surface of that gentle smile upon her lips. She couldn't remember going to a wedding where only vegetarian dishes had been served... Then again, the only wedding she'd ever been to was her aunt's, and the people of Willowhaven were hardly the sort that did not eat the very animals they raised and slaughtered. It was the natural course of life, but that wasn't to say that Beylani didn't understand a little of why some people would choose such a lifestyle. She can see that Dorian was nearly unhinged about the sheer idea and she hardly had to remind herself that he was practically from a different world than most people these days and so she offers him an understanding smile at his final string of words on how he refused to serve nothing but vegetables to the guests at his and Sebastian's wedding."The only wedding I've ever been to was my aunt's, but there was definitely more than vegetables served. Vegetarians are certainly uncommon in Willowhaven. Although, I suppose most of the people who don't wish to eat meat are those against taking animals' lives. Something that I'm sure wasn't a common thing when you were younger?", she comments softly to the man, showing that she certainly understood where he was coming from but also that she could sort of understand where those who chose such a lifestyle might come from. How different today's world must be to Dorian. The fire that had flickered almost defiantly within the fae man's silver gaze is quick to disappear though, smooth and accented tones growing lighter once more as he inquires about her job at the café working for Alexander, bringing a smile to Beylani's lips."I enjoy it a great deal. I've always loved coffee, so it's very exciting to learn how to craft it for others. Alexander is certainly... solemn, but he said a very fair employer to work for", she answers truthfully, remembering easily how little emotion seemed to pass through the older man on the exterior. She was curious about him when she'd first started, and she still was, but her thoughts had become too... preoccupied with other things to truly date to try and get to know he boss."Oh, and how is Maxwell? Is he getting big?", she asks brightly, finding that she missed the boisterous pup that surely had to be nearly grown by now, as far as height went most likely. She would need to ask Dorian about another chance to photograph the handsome canine, perhaps even have the fae man and his fiancé in the photo as a sort of family photo as a wedding gift for the men. It was a small gift, undoubtedly in comparison to what else they might receive, but she couldn't help feeling that Dorian cared more for sentimental value than monetary.
