East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

East
i hear the footsteps inside of me
Ah, it had been an age since Malek has heard the beautiful accent of an Italian caress his ears and when a man of much shorter stature slips into the chair next to him, the vampire turns to face him, a small smile tugging at his lips, "Non scusarti," do not apologize, he responds in flawless Italian. Letting his hazel eyes glide over the man, it takes him a moment to note that he's a faerie. Most faerie's he had met were all the same, devious little bastards and felt the need to hold themselves higher than any other supernatural in this city.

The fae's next words draw a crease in between his brows, perhaps this man was not from around these parts, or he was very old. It was hard to tell. Gesturing his head towards the man serving the beverages, his long hair swaying over his shoulder, "That man is called a bartender, not a servant," Malek corrects gently before moving on his English accent rolling off his tongue nicely, "A tab is where I drink as much alcohol as I possibly can until I'm passed out on the floor and pay at the end of night," he pause an releases an airy chuckle, "or they just take my money because I was too drunk to retrieve it," he laughs again.

There had been many a night where Malek had come and drank himself senseless and had forgotten his money at the bar. But when you were an immortal you tended to acquire money and property throughout the years, such as the vampire had, so losing a few dollars at a bar was nothing to the ancient supernatural. Letting the stranger's accent wash over him again, Malek found it interesting and familiar but he doesn't comment on it. Instead he listens to the faerie criticize his hair. Flashing a grin, he heightens his powers slightly, directing it only the fae. Mal was suddenly lost in his own world with the stranger.

"Where I am from, long hair is very normal," he pauses inspecting the faerie, "It makes it easier to grab onto," he comments with a sly grin, heightening his power again just by a notch. Malek was curious about this man. He was different, strange and a bit otherworldly such as himself. Dragging his hazel eyes from the man, he waves down the bartender, "Would you be so kind as to get my friend here a drink? Another whiskey will do, thank you," he nods at the bartender.

It isn't long before the whiskey arrives and is set in front of the fae. Malek lifts his own glass, as if in a toast in the man's direction and takes a swig. "Please, stay and drink with me. My name is Malek," he gives a slight nod of his head. The vampire hopes to get the man drunk enough to loosen his tongue, he had a feeling this faerie could share some interesting thoughts, if not through alcohol, perhaps through sexual means, "And what do they call you?" he asks casually, a small smirk playing on his lips, eyes narrowed in anticipation.
