East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Henry's mind was a muttled mess. On one side, he was struggling with what Sterling claimed he had done: shift into a cat and run out into the night. On the other side, he was struggling with his feelings of love and affection for Sterling. After all, now that his memories were back, it was hard to try and wrangle his thoughts. If he had it his way, he would ravish Sterling every second of every day and never let him out of his sight. But that was not possible. And so, Henry found himself here in the pub trying to make sense of everything in the only way he knew how: alcohol. Henry had never been one to talk much about his feelings. He tended to hide things away. Perhaps that was what he was trying to do now.

However, his thoughts are interrupted when he hears a man behind him, ordering the same as him. When one is the only one at the bar so early in the afternoon, it's hardly a coincidence that this man was referring to his drink. Eyes turned to watch the man sit down on the stool next to him. There were five other barstools at the bar and at least ten open tables. Why did this man have to sit immediately next to him. He wasn't in a chatty mood today. "All these other available seats and you have to sit next to me? Buddy, I'm not in a chatty mood today." His words were nearly venom, spat from his lips in irritation. He had no idea who this man was. In fact, he didn't care.

However, the man who sat down next to him didn't give a fuck that Henry didn't want to talk to him. He didn't move. He just grabbed his drink and took a sip, nearly making Henry come unglued. Asshole. Henry was just starting to stand up and move at least a seat or two down from the man when he spoke. He sounded so confident and that pissed Henry off even more. He certainly didn't want to talk. But he hesitated when he listened to the words that left his lips. How the fuck did he know about that? Sterling must have called him up or something. "I don't know what you're talking about. Did Sterling send you?" That was the only logical explanation. After all, Sterling had been saying that he shifted and whatnot. Maybe he called this stranger and told him. Maybe he figured someone else saying the same thing would convince him that it really happened. There was no way that he could possible know what had happened to him. It was impossible.
