East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

His rather detailed description of just how the sun would be given to destroy him saw the woman's soft green eyes widen slightly, the very image of him melting...to a certain extent, flickering behind her eyes as she hurriedly attempted to replace the image with another thought. She hardly liked vampires, well, she hardly disliked them- more so, she simply preferred to remain indifferent and yet the thought of a living creature burning in such a state was...horrific. Then again, maybe he wasn't living...exactly. The myriad of thoughts that tangled behind her mind momentarily saw her features form a gentle scowl before she brushed them quickly away, having no desire to linger upon such thoughts any longer then she had to. The science behind why exactly they seemed to burn, while a fascinating thing was hardly one she sought to entertain. A topic for later perhaps. After all, she had been told of day walking vampires- what about them was so different? What power did they have that Damon lacked? That he agreed with her new found hypothesis so a momentary grin of pleasure touch her lips. If there was anything she enjoyed thoroughly, it was winning, the girl rather competitive despite her often modest and reserved demeanour, another trait perhaps from her overly driven Mother, Isla never having taken well to being out done in any field, his agreement taken as a victory in this moment. After all, was convincing someone of her argument not a victory?

His final sentence however saw her eyes flicker back towards him, the subliminal message within hardly missed, the girl merely allowing one eye to raise ever so slightly in what may have very near been a tease of sorts, if only a subtle one, lip lifting slightly in a passing smile of amusement before she paused outside her little townhouse, the beautiful building as neat and clean and organised as the girl herself, her words stumbling slightly for lack of knowledge over whether or not the man before her actually ate or drunk anything other then, well....she really preferred not to think of it. Fingers reached once more to tease at a lock of red blonde hair, a slightly nervous gesture she'd always had, attempting to deduce whether or not she had offended him by offering him a biscuit, vampire...protocol wasn't exactly one of her strong points and yet she had already made a mental note to improve on it. Her words seemed to earn him a momentary look of contemplation, Isla forced to truly consider what she felt in those moments finding indeed that the idea was not entirely appalling to her, uncomfortable maybe but not entirely displeasing provided he made no attempt to eat her. Could he even come in uninvited?

The challenge within his voice however, seemed to see her decision confirmed in those moments, the girl clearly unable to turn down such a thing as she regarded him, wary perhaps and yet the very dare his words possessed seemed to irk her- if only slightly. She is haf given to wonder if such things work like they do on True Blood, can she invite him in only to send him back out if he annoys her? That she thinks, seems entirely too farfetched and yet the very nature of the conversation she was having with ridiculous in itself- at least to a certain extent.

"Well then, as it happens, I do want to continue this conversation. I am mildly concerned you might attempt to eat me but considering you've had ample opportunity I am going to choose to believe you won't. I actually have rather a lot of questions I'd like to ask you, you're the first vampire I've actually ever met and as long as you take your shoes off before you come in, I suppose I don't see why you can't. I have pepper spray though, just so you know."

She moved to turn on her heel then, this new found confidence seeming to touch every line of her frame as she stepped to unlock the door, slipping off her own shoes before stepping onto the polished floorboards of the hallway, pausing to leave the door open behind her for Damon to follow, the house as ordered as the garden, everything meticulously placed as she moved to head into the kitchen, flicking on the kettle as she did, gesturing to the table and chairs nearby, much of her college work set up at one end, research papers on veterinary medicine scattered about- the table the sole point of disorder in the apartment.

"Just move those things aside, sorry, I get carried away sometimes, how do you take your tea?"
