East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

A man of mystery was he? Hmm. It was perhaps not an entirely incorrect description on her part, 'mystery' a decidedly better word then the often more attributed 'shady', a soft murmur of agreement leaving his lips as he fell so easily into step beside her. The entire notion of dating was new to him, different, he had never been afforded such a chance in his teenage years- those Hunters whom had guided many of his younger days hardly permitting anything so free as dating amongst their collection of steeds, not when they had already chosen whom would be better placed with whom to produce that better style of riding horse. Frost an experiment they truly never hoped to repeat. His blood black listed entirely after a rather unfortunate series of events. His adult years, few though there were, having been spent merely attempting to stay alive if only to achieve that single and ultimate goal that so much of his life was focused upon. For all he was, for all the cruelty, for all they said of him his purpose was singular, his goal clear. He had promised them he would return and he would- for all those he had left behind. Perhaps the all those he had felled in his wake may yet not have died in vain and yet they had attempted to stop him, attempted to get in his way, those whom had died at his own hand and as such he held truly little remorse for such actions. Guilt was a weakness, just as the majority of those more potent feelings were. They could be exploited so readily. He had seen it happen time and again. It was a risk in every sense to offer any part of himself to another, few so guarded as Frost and yet there were few so capable as Nadya in finding those near non-existent spaces in his ever-ready shield. Edie perhaps the only other whom had shown any skill in that. If only in another way entirely.

The were-girl beside him however was a distinctly potent risk, one whom he had already so traversed several of those boundaries he swore he would not again. He was foolish in his affection for her. He was better alone, what little affection still existed buried somewhere within and beneath that icy exterior better left for his pack and those platonic relationships and yet time and again his thoughts lingered upon this singular girl. The one he was making some effort to date because she had asked him too, his knowledge of such a thing limited to what Edie and Claire and Scarlett had told him along with those few momentary scenes of whatever TV show the girls were watching that evening. He understood the idea of it in the least, the stallion hardly against the idea of having Nadya to himself and it was that alone, perhaps, that had so seen him agree to her request. Leading her now down that dark street and towards that park- the woman a little slow perhaps, to pick up upon that muted apology. Nadya lifted easily into his arms now, her own draping easily around his neck, Frost very near daring to smile as he carried her across that muddy grass and towards that neatly laid blanket.

It was...old-fashioned he supposed and yet he had grown up without television, cars, fine dining or any of those more modern pleasures, his idea of intimacy governed in some sense by his own definition of the word, so much of his own culture fixated on nature, outdoors and those more private, stolen moments they might have. It was...who he was....to an extent, even if he was so rarely afforded a chance to show it. The snowy-haired man desperately guarded in anything of the emotional sense. This his first true attempt- Nadya eased easily onto that blanket before Frost moved to seat himself beside her, gesturing now to that picnic basket, Nadya reviewing such choices aloud- the way her teeth pressed upon her bottom lip hardly missed, stirring a distinctly more instinctive need within the man and yet one he ignored all the same- at least for now. His shoulders lifting in a soft shrug of sorts.

"I understand the premise of it in the least. Dating, I am told, is supposed to be about knowing and I am distinctly difficult to know. So this is my attempt. I enjoy the outdoors far more than the indoors and I enjoy eating. It was something of a wild guess that you might find such things pleasing in turn."

The faintest hint of a simper teases upon his lips once more, his voice very near playful in his admittance, her comment on the weather seeing one eye lift upward, Frost at last easing himself back upon that blanket, resting upon his elbows now.

"I am a horse, Naja, we know when there will be a storm. Horses always know. As for other animals, I have had words with them."

A faint chuckle of sorts hums within his chest as she queries how much he had truly have to with the organisation of that basket of food. Frost having done decidedly little in truth, Claire the true master behind such things and yet he offers the woman little more than a pensive look.

"I prefer to remain mysterious on this, as you say, though I assure you it was not stolen."

Theft of picnic baskets was...petty in the least, Frost hardly inclined to waste either his efforts of his power upon something as useless as that, what little of his violet gaze could be seen lingering upon that strawberry now- watching with some faint curiosity as Nadya seemed to savour it. Frost reaching easily for a cracker, content enough to eat it as it was. The pleasant crunch and simple flavour pleasing enough to him. The man noting a distinct lack of sugar cubes all the same and yet the distinct purpose of this evening was to please Nadya, not himself, some part of the man aware he sought her approval on some level- such emotions....confusing to him on a whole and yet he hardly chose to dwell on them now. The stallion reclining with an almost laconic ease. Those words he uttered then truly rare for the man, Frost never given to idle talk unless pressed and yet he was making an effort this evening, treading upon that threshold of his own closely held comfort zone. Gaze cat upwards ever so slightly.

"I will never understand the stars in this country, they are in the wrong locations as far as I am concerned. My own has a far more picturesque sky, one decorated with Norðurljós, though this one shall have to do I suppose. Have you ever seen the Norðurljós- the northern lights?"

He held a curiosity of sorts, for just where his companion might have travelled to in her time, Frost, for the first time, showing some intrigue in those idle curiosities that few cared to ask for and few ever knew. The man making a distinct effort to know her in some sense, reaching for another cracker. His words, this time, entirely playful.

"I know little of how 'dating' is done in this country, in my own culture this would involve a dance of sorts though I think this is not the case here. Tell me, am I still convincing you I know what I am doing?"
