East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The raven haired vampire slides across the room behind the man she would soon devour. The man who thought his very dreams came true, he relished in this moment, beside himself. He could pay off his deep debt that he owed the mobsters for his gambling problem and so much more, he was so blind by the thought of what he received that he didn't even question how the money got there. In his mind he was finally free. He breaks out into what could only be described as a maniacal laugh. "I am rich!" He cries. She draws her hands to his shoulders holding him in place almost roughly considering ending him right this moment. Her eyes narrow, glowing eerily with a pinprick of nostalgia haunting that icy gaze. She ignores him without saying a word as he grabs the money, stuffing it in his pockets with that frantic gluttony, in this very moment he had never seen such a sweet sight. She stares at the man as though her cold eyes that could bore holes through his skull, a small twisted grin plays upon her crimson lips. He eyes the blonde with a newfound hunger, he would have her on this pile of money. Greed and lust fill the man before her as he transformed into a ball of need. She had him right where she wanted him.

So suddenly, the money transformed to ash as though it simply burned away between her mark's fingers as he touched it. He watches in horror as the cash turned into pale white dusty ash. The more he tried to grab at it the more it accelerated the process. Her pretty little blonde illusion soon transforms into something else, something that could only be described as demonic as though she came right out of hell herself. The now creatures face melted into something mangled and dark, only human-esque in its appearance. She allows him free as he whirls around, eyes wild and angry with something raw and evil. He absolutely loathed her. "WHERE DID MY MONEY GO WITCH?" he exclaimed spit flying from his mouth, face turning red with rage. Her smirk turns into a wicked gleam, mocking and antagonizing in its own cruel way. His eyes fall upon the now mutilated demon woman she created. She could feel his heart race like a juicy pomegranate seed waiting to pop. Her pale eyes glitter with devilish intent as she stalks forward so slowly but with purpose. "Not your money." That nightingale voice returns from the vampire. The demon woman she conjured began to crawl upon the walls and onto the ceiling as if ready to descend upon him, she makes sickening pops and wet sounds as it moves across the drywall. A delicious fear radiates off of him as he skitters backward almost tripping over himself. Her prey runs toward the exit toward to ally, a hidden entrance from the back where the garbage and city rats dwelled.

How does this dark and strange woman pick out her prey amongst the crowd? Well sometimes there is a reason and other times there is none. It could be a minute and petty reason that she concocts within her warped mind. Perhaps they had too much to lose. Perhaps it was an opportunity to break a nasty filthy soul. Sometimes it was just for fun. And other times it was small characteristics that reminded her of when she was human. The bar owner did not possess something she wanted. Quite simply she was not so ambitious at this current moment. No, he merely looked like someone she had once known, someone long dead (one of her very first victims). Someone who sold her out to the lowest bidder, a man who was supposed to protect her when she had nothing left. In her trusting human frailty he had traded her to move up in the world. Someone who looked like the man who generated the very stepping stone that lead her to the fateful moment of becoming a vampire. But this man was not her uncle, no he was just some poor washed out version of him. The only thing they shared was looks, somewhat vaguely, his personality characteristics appeared just as slimy, shorting patrons change and so very wrapped up in his own greed. But no one would know these reasons why this tarnished little soul had chosen this particular victim, for the simple reason that she didn't need any. Did any vampire need a reason to pick out their prey amongst the herd of sheep? He was her meal ticket, a mere reason to snuff out what was left of a lingering memory, hazy at best.

In truth, she let him run, he did not escape her. She liked it when they ran, liked giving the illusion that they could escape what was surely inevitable. For this woman was full of illusions licking at her core just beneath her porcelain flesh and bone, simply begging to be created going against the grain of reality. A figment that goes against what they could see and hear, destroy a man while when others saw nothing. Or perhaps her spell had infected them all, their very own private hell, trapping whoever she pleased there, until boredom or death overcomes.

Her illusions snapped back to reality so quickly it would have been startling to anyone who had witnessed it as she makes her way after her prey with a swiftness. She could hear the voice of another as she pushes that steel door open. To her surprise, the vampire that she saw in the bar stood holding her wriggling prey by the throat like a worm in a robin's beak. Her brows stitch into a frown at the scene, this was her hunt not his. " Was the service at the bar not to your liking?" She questions her nightingale voice sings darkly, pale eyes watching him with owl-like precision as she begins to circle, slithering around them in an almost serpentine fashion. Why was he even out here meddling in her business? " Don't you know it is unwise to put your hands on another's prey, hm?" She toys, tipping her head slightly to the side in consideration, studying the larger vampire entirely from top to bottom, noticing every twitch and nuance. Oh her illusions pleading to sprout to life but she stills them. It was nice to see the man squirming in the other vampire's all too unforgiving grasp, practically dangling off the ground in a helpless fashion. A slow wicked smile finds its way upon her lips, her unrelenting gaze unmoving in an unnerving way, much like that of a snake. She stopped before the vampire in a somewhat irked fashion as she was caught off guard, her heels scraping across the wet ground as she turned to face him. She would kill them both if she were pushed to.
