East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

death incarnate & night triumphant

The thought that another faerie from his past and so shown themselves to him was almost bizarre. He had intended to track down both Dorian and Eve once he found the time to do so, yet, they all somehow managed to cross paths before he was ready. Nonetheless, he was still prepared to offer both faeries a position within his court that he was slowly but surely rebuilding. Their greetings are short and efficient, even when he stands he gives Dorian a small nod of respect. It's with the king's inquiry that has Andras quickly hiding that pain that so flicks through his eyes with a broad smile. "Unfortunately, I was called away to deal with some unforeseen business and did not get to finish negotiating with your father. Shortly after that, your kingdom fell to that curse," Andras gave a small shrug before inquiring about his father.

He didn't find it surprising. When he dealt with the King of Italy, he hardly mentioned his son and when he did, there was a certain disdain held in his lyrics when speaking about Dorian. Still, Andras lets out a snort of amusement at the faerie's words. "Fair enough," he offers before those keen of his linger on the guards several paces back. He always his dark eyes to remain on their forms, even when he comments about their presence. Only does Andras glance back at Dorian when he responds. Shrugging, he could understand that to a certain point. The Fae male never deigned to keep guards of his own but he wouldn't judge the royalty that still hired men for extra protection. He hardly doubted Dorian would need much protection as is, he briefly remembered Dorian within that sparring ring, he was as talented with weapons as he was with words.

As the continue their walk, Andras can't help but inquire about the curse, a faint smile lingering upon his lips as he faces Dorian, not halting their movements along the path. Quickly noting that scowl that so twisted the king's features, he realizes he has hit a sore spot. Noted. As Dorian weaves his tale, Andras falls silent, briefly wondering what sort of witch could wield such powerful dark magic to keep an entire kingdom contained for centuries. He might have commented on it, might have inquired about the clan until he feels the king's gaze back on him. Brows furrowed, he glances towards Dorian to see conflicting emotions dancing across his features.

Holding his tongue, he gives Dorian a knowing look, his had inclining slightly to acknowledge his loss. How he understood the king, luckily for Dorian he had been present when his family died around him. Perhaps not happily, but at the very least, they weren't slaughtered in ways unimaginable. Those own dark thoughts of the past creep at the back of his mind and with some difficulty, he shoves them away, halting in his stroll with the man. "I'm sorry for your losses," again, Andras inclines his head, "Forgive me, I shouldn't have pried, I was merely curious," he apologizes, his lyrics entirely genuine.

Yet, the faerie lord would indeed push Dorian on that witch clan eventually, not now, but later.

"Be grateful you were present for the deaths of your family members," Andras states, a half smile tugging at his lips to ease the bluntness of his words. Turning, he continues along the path, wary of the guards trailing behind them so diligently. "I had heard you were staying within the limits of Sacrosanct before I had decided to come here. A great many people from my past can be found here in this city," he explains briefly without looking at the faerie beside him, "When I told you I didn't get that alliance with your father because I was called away... I was called away because there had been an attack on my court. When I finally returned home, there was nothing left to return to. The entirety had been destroyed, massacred, not even the children were spared," he says a bit softly, pain coating his lyrics. When he halts again, he's regained control of his emotions, his eyes fix on Dorian, those midnight eyes perhaps burning a bit with a depth of such fury he had kept hidden for centuries, "I'm here to rebuild my court from the ground up and I want to offer you position within my ranks," he states, hoping his offer of honesty would allow the faerie to join him.
