East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Everything had changed for the demure young woman after that night. Damon had left her sobbing in her bathroom, the mere sight of his blood had been too much for her. All those memories of torment, all the harm she had endured, all of it was still too fresh within her mind. For days she had hardly left her home. And though Isolt had returned to check up on her, she had been unable to enjoy the woman's company. Isolt was, admittedly, made of far stronger material than the delicate Asian vampire. It was under her red-haired Supreme's beseeching only that prompted her to return to that work, though her performance of late had been lacking even her usual attempts. She shied from human contact, nervous that amongst the crowd of patrons she was supposed to be servicing, one of them was hiding. A paranoia she had never before experienced overtook her, every creek of that quiet townhome set her on edge, every minute noise within those daylight hours awoke her from her slumber, sending her heart fluttering. The woman hardly slept and equally found that hunt too daunting of a task to even consider and yet, it was a necessity tonight, as much as she loathed to admit it.

It was early, at least, for the young vampire, it was. The sun had only just set and already Chizue was tentatively stepping down that wooden staircase towards the pavement. It was with a glimpse of apprehension that caused the young woman to nibble on her bottom lip as she contemplated the easiest way to carry out her task. She hardly wanted to venture far from her home, that townhome was the only bit of sanctuary she had left. Nor did she particularly want to engage in another individual, at least enough to feed on a singular source. In this, she was, perhaps, lucky, to be unique. She needed a crowd, a crowd she could get lost in. The girl nodded ever so slightly to herself, meticulously going over every step of that plan as if the very repetition of it all somehow made it far less frightening than Chizue felt it was. Her arms wrapped around her petite figure as she made her way down those darkened streets and towards the very heart of Sacrosanct. Despite the hour, she knew those downtown neighborhoods would be filled to the brim with those very people she sought. From the nightclubs to the family's going to dinner to the last few members of the workforce trickling home. Downtown was the very hub of all human activity.

It hardly took her all that long to come across the very epicenter of the metropolis, the skyscrapers towered over her, the city filled to the brim exactly as she had been anticipating. A soft exhale left her lips as she glanced over that crowd, looking for any face that seemed....familiar from those days she'd spent within the care of those coven witches. Chizue's head bobbed as the girl attempted to reassure herself all over again. She stepped out of that shadowed alley, joining the nearest group of pedestrians as they crossed the street. Each bump of their skin against hers was a blessing, allowing her to take a piece of their aura here and there, absorbing that very energy that afforded her life all over again. By the time they reached the other side, rounding on the large plaza in front of a particularly sizeable glass-faced office building. By the time she reached the other side, that deathly pale color to her skin had warmed ever so slightly, her chocolate eyes seemed far warmer and that listlessness that had once filled her somehow felt...slightly more alive. Her mood had transformed to a sort of restlessness from absorbing so many different emotions and yet- the girl's overwhelming fear still rose to the top of all those feelings that swirled within her.

In a desperate attempt to ground herself from all those feelings, Chizue found herself near stumbling from that crowd, her fingers caught onto the edge of the neared building, tucking her petite figure against the side of it. Her head tilted back, her chocolate eyes fluttered closed as she tried to focus on her breath. It took her a moment before she opened her eyes, her gaze turned towards the side only for those eyes to fall upon a suited man stepping out of that very building she leaned against. She watched him with his briefcase in hand as he made his way down those steps with a clear sense of purpose. He hardly seemed the friendly type and yet, it was that far corner of that briefcase in his hand that caught her attention. Whoever had closed that bag had failed to do so properly, nearly half of a manila folder was dangling from it, several papers but moments away from spilling on the floor. It would be unfortunate for the poor man if those were important papers. Another breath left her lips before Chizue stepped forward, reaching down to pick up that trail of papers that had fallen from that envelope in those moments she had gathered her courage. "Um....excuse me...." The once singer's voice was almost raspy from the sobbing that had wracked her frame of late, those words the very first she had spoken in weeks. One slender hand reached out to the man, tentative though it was as she attempted to garner his attention. It was only once he turned to provide her with his attention that all courage seeped from her frame. She was almost unsure of what to say to him before those pages were abruptly thrust towards him as that shyness so afflicted her all over again.
