East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

If there was any one conundrum that Alexander had found himself faced with time after time, it was deciding what to do with his infinitely long life. He had taken up various occupations through out the years, always choosing battle over the more mundane tasks until the point that it had changed from swords to guns and cannons. Alexander took no pride in killing so mercilessly and easily. Every death should respected. Since then he'd bounced from hobby to hobby, switching from one to the next as his interest fluttered to and fro. The coffee shop had occupied him for a while now though he'd yet to come to tire of it. It was perhaps that singular fact that caused the rather unexpected offer to slip from his lips. "Well, I could always use more Baristas if it ever did interest you." He responded in an offhanded fashion with the smallest of shrugs. Despite his rather nonchalant offer, the Macedonian man couldn't help the fashion at which his blue-green gaze slid towards her with the brief hint of curiosity. He found that a part of him liked the idea of seeing the timid were again, though the notion of doing so on a daily basis seemed too much to ask for. Then again, he'd gone down in history for his charismatic capabilities, even if it had been absolutely ages since he'd seen fit to draw upon those innate skills. He cleared his throat, his gaze shifting back towards the milk and fire. "I think you'd be good at it." Alexander added softly, "You certainly have an uncanny ability to make people warm up to you."

He listened in silence as she briefly retold the story of the loss of her village, a small frown crossing his masculine features as he nodded ever so slightly. Her story was hardly new to him. Fires and war were often the greatest kinds of travesties to befall upon the world he had lived in. Now they were a thing oft forgotten of entirely. His gaze shifted towards her, noting the fashion that her speaking seemed to abruptly stop as if she had intended to say more but chosen against it. He had considered questioning after it but the pleasant, embarrassed look dancing upon her feminine features behind her shielded hand caused him to think better of it. Instead, the sight of color upon her cheeks brought a glimpse of an encouraging simper across his features. "Raven?" He inquired, choosing what he could only guess was the least harmful bit of the information she had divulged. "Is she a friend of yours?" In truth, Alexander hardly ever bothered to leave the cafe, at least not anymore. He knew little of the other supernaturals that existed within the city beyond those within the Dark Hunter council. Regardless - the Macedonian man liked the sound of her voice and perhaps it was that which caused him to coax her to continue.

Alexander could feel her as she shifted closer towards him, the conversation shifting to one that clearly interested her. Those age old hunter instincts still sometimes managed to nag at him to the point of annoyance though it was quite rare. Then again, it wasn't often that he chose to sit so close to those of other species for such a prolonged time either. "Mmhm." He commented, pausing for a moment before continuing, "I traveled a lot. We went to Egypt and Ariana...er.." Alexander interrupted himself, "Iran, now, sorry. There were fewer forests to hunt in and not everyone was willing to risk the panthers and jackels. My homeland was more forested though." He replied, choosing to leave out the fact that being the prince had allowed him far more luxuries then the common wealth when it came to just about everything - food included. He fell silent for a moment, distracted by the milk as it swirled around the pot. Her soft whisper momentarily caught his attention as he pulled the pot from it's place within the fire. "It's not too hard. Do you want to learn?" Alexander inquired, adding in his best effort to reassure, "I promise, I won't let the fire burn you." Frankly, he wasn't even sure if that mattered in the least to her - a promise from a Dark Hunter was surely a fragile thing but it was just another offer just for her.

Slowly, he began to unwrap the chocolate bars, breaking off smaller chunks and depositing them within the steaming milk. "Here." He handed her one of the bars, nodding ever so slightly at her request to ensure that it was extra chocolatey. He was all too willing to oblige her in this, pausing to glance up at the sound of her voice. "Animal?" Alexander inquired briefly before shaking his head. "Ah, no, they come from the cocoa plant....though..I can't...really tell you more beyond that." He added with a hint of guilt. Alexander had never before taken an interest into how the plant became a brick of sweetness, at least not until now.
