East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

:: Into These Animals We Grew :: (Lucian)

Those brief moments in which the older mans fingers are given to brush against his shoulders in a momentary pat see a ready purr of satisfaction drawn from the leopard. Within his human form he is loath to be touched, becomes irate about it and yet within his animal skin his demeanour is given to differ entirely, readily enjoying Lucians pat as he leans into the hand, very near about to collapse into a pile at his feet from such a thing before his form is given to shift, having the respect- it would seem, to offer Lucian his human skin. After all, the older man brings food and of late has even seen fit to provide him with toys....of a sort. Truthfully Tobias has little understanding of any sort of human weaponry and yet some things appeal to that human male side of himself, weaponry and cars, it would seem, resting quite highly upon this list. He is a naturally curious creature and as such finds Lucian and his daily activities a constant source of intrigue when his pack is not around to otherwise capture his attention. The bark of laughter that erupts from within the muscular individual sees both the boys dark eyes widen slightly in some vague implication of surprise, features knotting together in a frown of sorts, mind attempting to puzzle out what exactly had caused such a reaction to occur, unable to understand most forms of humour at the best of times, offering little more then a blank look as the taller man seeks to explain.

"Oh....we are going to an.....Alpha party. I see."

Well- almost. This brief pleasure in understanding is momentarily reflected within those dark chocolate eyes before he moves to pull on his rather over-sized t-shirt. Despite his own rather impressive height, Lucian still towers over him and indeed as far as bulk is given to go, the younger man is barely a shade compared to his counterpart. Even with his new onset of meals the boy is naturally sleek by design, holding little weight upon his hard, toned frame- the shirt a veritable tent around him as Lucian only laughs once more, resulting in the same blank stare that shifts hurriedly into a look of discord.

"I do not swim."

The words hold no stutter or pause, no struggle or difficulty, delivered with a sudden, emotionless tone that leaves no room for argument. He likes Lucian, tolerates his presence and remains content enough in his company. Should the other man however, hold some desire to have him swim- Tobias will be more than content to end the fledgling friendship here and now. Fortunately they are given to move away, the boy trailing after the old man and towards the truck parked outside, lips pulling upward into a ready grin at the sight of such a machine as he eagerly moves to take up the front seat as instructed, scrambling inside before slamming the door behind him. For a moment the deviant boy simply sits, seeming entirely enraptured with the inside of the truck. It has been years since he has been within a car, not since he was a child and Mom and Dad had taken him and Tetra and Nadya to the lake. He had hated that lake and yet the forests around it had provided endless entertainment. It had taken over an hour to coax him into the car at all and yet at Tetra's assurance it was by no means any sort of cage or trap he had been content to follow his young Leader. This single journey had been the beginning of his adoration for such things, his only other ride within a vehicle far less....comfortable. For a moment his fingers move to run up and down the seats, seeming to adore the feel alone as his fingers knead against the interior in the same manner in which a cat would flex it's claws, the line between animal and man so very perilously thin within the boy, before Lucian's words distract his attention. Drive it?

"I would like that....very much."

That Lucian may well not have any understanding of what he is getting himself into by making such a promise, Tobias sure to never let him forget it, remains to be seen, the boy grinning now readily all the same before reaching into his own pocket, fumbling for a moment for his own sunglasses, the pair he had demanded for Lucian upon their first meeting, moving to mimic the other man and place his own upon his head, assured that this is now the done thing when within a truck, the engine purring to life as they pull away from the curb.

"I went....in a truck once.....in the back....in a box. I went to look for Tetra and I....went to a place with lots of....cubs and I....got hit and then I.....fell....asleep and then....I was in a truck. I did not like that. This truck is....better."

If the other man can even understand the story he has just been told it will be a miracle in itself, Tobias unable to fully express the situation for lack of words, unable to explain entirely that his search for Tetradore had led him once, in leopard form, to a human school, the panicked teachers having called Animal Control which had resulted in well placed tranquiliser dart (and a sore rear end) plus a ride in a cage in the back of a truck to the local zoo before he had been entirely recovered enough to make his escape. Lucians vehicle, he is already assured, is far better. For a moment those dark eyes rest on the other man as he drives, seeking to assure himself his companion had understood his convoluted tale, or at least had no questions before his own head tilts slightly once more as they arrive on the other side of town.

"What is...kicks?"
