East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha nearly flinched at the realization that her inability to pick out the Dark Hunter in the café was something that disappointed him. Though, she hadn't laid eyes on the man. It was always easier to tell who she was looking for emotion-wise when she could lay eyes on someone. Still, she knew that he wanted her to be safe, and her being unable to identify the different types of supernaturals certainly didn't scream that she was being safe. Still, it wasn't entirely her fault. She remembered the way that she'd woken up after... after what had happened to her. Her makers had merely laughed at her questions before they'd taken off. She'd been left wondering what it was that she was. She'd figured out quickly that she wasn't human anymore, though she'd lived in strict denial of what she was for years. Until... until she'd came to Sacrosanct and had came across the man sitting in front of her. He was the first other supernatural she'd met since her change, and the first time it had felt like there was something in her life besides wandering. He'd got her her job, he'd shown an interest in her, and it was enough to make her want to learn about what she was and how she could care for herself and keep herself safe.

It was that that she'd been thinking about when the faeries had caught her attention. She'd sat nearly paralyzed with fear as they'd past, barely able to think. She hated that they could do this to her. She hated that she saw their faces everywhere. Slowly, she drew her gaze back to him at the mention of his words. Sam shook her head just slightly. "No, I know they're not," She said very quietly, the confidence she'd shown in pursuing him seeming to drain at the girls' existence. "But I know other fae now. I know the girls I work with. I know the way they feel about me. I'm supposed to be their equal. We're the same. But we're not. Even now, they see me as prey." She reached across the table, putting her hand on top of his. She looked up, forcing herself to look at him even though her insides wanted to curl up and hide. "I don't want you to think that I'm only here because I'm interested in you. I asked you to teach me because I'm tired of being their plaything. I don't want them to hurt me any more."

At that, Samantha settled back into her chair, though she didn't move her hand. She was comfortable to sit in the silence while she fought to get her own emotions under check. She hated the way that those girls had made her feel. She was lucky for his apathy, and the way that his emotions didn't add to her own. It only took her a few moments of silence as she processed his reaction to her question. If they became involved... what did that even mean exactly? She wasn't positive that he'd have an interest in anything serious, though she found herself wanting that. It was Aiden that had brought her to this level of comfort in her own body, and she found herself wanting him. She let her fingers curl around his as she thought. She finally let out a soft breath, unable to look at him entirely. "Involved. I don't... I don't do casual, exactly. I need definitions and limits and I..." She felt entirely nervous, yet she was comfortable with asking him the question and she hoped he reacted positively too. "I like you, Aiden. I want to spend more time with you."
