South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The look he gives me is something I'll have to get used to. Is he confused by my question or am I the one misunderstanding? We seem to be blundering around in the dark when we talk, like two people lost without a flashlight. I'm sure we'll get over it once we get to know each other more. I guess if Sam really wants me in the monarchy, I'll have to learn more about Dorian, right? Not that I wouldn't like to know him anyway. I'm always curious of other fae and he seems to have had a different upbringing than I did. Each fae monarchy is different, especially the older ones. They tend to have their own sets of rules and traditions and when they make those traditions, they tend to be more extreme than the newer monarchies. They change with time and grow more lax, like allowing fae and humans to breed and marry. It's unheard of in monarchies such as the one I came from. It would almost be considered treason, possibly punishable by death. It's been a while since I've read those rules.

At his sudden words, I blink thoughtfully before I break out in a grin and chuckle, running a hand through my hair. "Now you're just pulling my leg. There hasn't been a king in Italy since 1946. I should know. Umberto and I became good friends in that short month or so he was on the throne. I love Italian food." I shrug it off, having too much fun with the notion of him changing his clothes in the middle of the beach. Dorian looks aghast at the very notion, gaping at me for a moment or more. I chuckle at his mention of giving women a heart attack, shaking my head as I look toward the waves. "Not to mention what you'd do to the few men who enjoy the finer things in life." I give him a teasing wink as I continue walking, not waiting to see his reaction.

I nod as we walk, listening to him talk about the monarchy. "I have found that every monarchy is different in one way or another. So is every fae. It is nice to be surrounded by your own kind, as long as they don't want your heart for desert. Stay away from Mongolia. Dark stuff." I shiver at the thought. I ran across a dark fae group on my travels, more a cult than a monarchy really. They believed that certain fae they found appealing had to be set free, and the way to do that was to kill and eat them, especially the heart. That's the house of the soul, after all.

I then inform him that I have a secret. I don't know why I want to tell him of all people. We just met and yet somehow it feels important that at least he should know why I'm really here in Sacrosanct. I lower my voice. "I'm not just a fae. I do discreet work for the Dark Hunter Council. I'm also a hunter. I get paid under the table for their dirty work, the kind they don't trust their own hunters to take care of. That's why I'm here. They paid me to come here and hunt creatures they need 'taken care of."
