South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

It was a silence full of questions between them as they walked to the diner around the corner. She could still feel some tension in Miyako's arm as they strode down the sidewalk but she didn't want to say anything. She feared that if she brought it up, it would only prove that it existed and then maybe they wouldn't be able to be friends anymore. At least not the way they had been before she shifted in front of Miyako. She wanted things to go back to the way they were. She didn't want any tension between herself and Miyako. Not soon enough, they arrived at the diner and she took a seat across from Miyako, offering her an open smile as Miyako took off her jacket. Miyako said it was hard to wrap her mind around and Malia sighed, nodding her head slowly. "I know. It was for me too." Miyako would probably think she was crazy in saying that cause she didn't know that the woman across her had been a coyote most of her life. She still looked wary of Malia but she didn't look scared anymore. That had to be a plus right?

Miyako said she just found out her roommate was a vampire and Malia's eyes widened. She leaned across the table. "Really?! That is so cool!" She looked around, trying to lower her voice more. "I've never met a vampire. I only just found out that they exist. Does he drink blood and stuff?" Her eyes lit up with curiosity. She only then noticed that Miyako looked vulnerable, rubbing her arms and saying she was trying to look at it with optimism instead of fear. Her features softened. "Good." She didn't know what else to say really. What could she tell her that would reassure her everything was going to be okay? Miyako said she wanted to questions and Malia nodded eagerly. "You can ask me anything and if I know the answer, I'll tell you. I won't want you to be in the dark either. I hated it when I didn't know anything." She grimaced. Miyako asked the waitress for coffee before gesturing for Malia to give an order as well. She cleared her throat and looked up at the waitress.

"Uh, I'll have a fruity drink. Something sweet." The waitress looked confused for a minute before she smiled sweetly and nodded. "I've got just the thing, sweetheart. I'll be right back." Malia watched the lady leave before she turned her attention back to Miyako. Her brows were furrowed. She was curious about something. She listened to Miyako's question about shifting before she smirked. "Cause a little pain is worth all the freedom in the world. I'd rather hurt a little so I can be in whatever form I want than be stuck in just one form for the rest of my life. Already tried that route....it sucked." She scowled and looked down at the table. She had always felt like something was missing in her life. She wouldn't go back to that for anything. She knew Miyako was trying to understand. She slowly looked up as the waitress came back. "Here you go, dear." She sat the drink down and Malia pulled it to her and sniffed it. It smelled fruity. She took a sip. Hm, no bitter aftertaste. Must mean no alcohol. Still tasted good.

She glanced back at Miyako after another sip. "I didn't know I was a Were till this year. I've been a coyote since I...well, since as far back as I can remember. I was a pup, raised with other coyote pups. I aged a little differently and was stronger but otherwise, I felt no different. Except that I thought differently than the others. I felt frustrated a lot because I couldn't get them to understand. I felt like something was missing but I didn't know what."
