South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.
Home of: The Cavalry

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. The University places a high focus both upon educating future generations but also on research to help revolutionize the world. The University welcomes the talent of students across the world to enroll and unlock their unlimited potential. With applications from across the nation, classes fill up quickly.

GO AHEAD AND PLAY DEAD

The forest is a gift not to be squandered on a night so vibrant and crisp as this. The confines of steel and glass and concrete are left forgotten in this fortitude of trees and bracken and earth. Here the might of the city gives sway, the Earth Mother reclaiming that which had always been Hers. The sidewalks are brittle decayed, greenery slithering between the cracks and over-taking the grip of the concrete. The light posts are crooked and failing, the dim halo of their light flickering in and out ominously. And beyond the worn down pavement of the streets are the trees.

Having shed my human skin some hours ago, I relished the dark and the freedom of my lupine form as I lope betwixt the timbers and stretch the coiling muscles. My figure is massive by all canine standards including that of my feral counterparts. At 45" and six feet in length I was a gargantuan specimen, rippling hard toned muscle and sharp angular features that cut through the night like a well-sharpened blade.

Sterling filagree breaks up my outline, brindled armor constructing adequate camouflage against the shadowed backdrop as I stalk through the edges of the forest with muzzle low to the ground. I was tracking a herd of deer that had grown brazen from humans that leave breads and grain for them to feed upon. They've become lazy and bold, their fight or flight instincts dulled by the proposition of an easy meal and the ever-present scent of the humans that provide it. There lack of fear and the false sense of security is now their folly.

There is a small break in the wood very near to the highway, opening into a small abandoned park where the grass now grows near knee-high. Several does and two fawns are but silver shadows beneath the moonlight, all grazing and foraging amid decrepit benches and street posts.

I fall into a crouch, hackles bristling as jaws part and tongue slips out to slide sanguinely across lips, caressing the sharp double canines so eager to sink into the soft fattened flesh of the ungulates before me. Heart drums in my chest, excitement pumping adrenaline through my inner tissues as I slink lower, drawing closer inch by meticulous inch.

Almost within striking distance, mouth salivates in anticipation, dulled claws extending to score deep trenches into the soil as shoulders roll and haunches bunch beneath my frame. I was ready to explode at the opportune moment, my prey within easy reach and completely oblivious to the danger that stalks them...

And then... Suddenly...

The herd scatters, spooked by the abrupt cacaphony taking place along the edge of the street. The deer flee in all directions, one doe nearly careening over me in her desperation to get away from whatever faceless danger has disturbed them.

Shit! I curse as I roll out of harms way and the ungulates disappear into the forest, their lithe bodies bleeding back into the night. Radars flatten against my skull and a low growl simmers from my lips as glaring sclera watch them disappear and then snap back towards the road, focusing on that which has cost me my meal. Someone's going to pay far that....

I thirsted for flesh before and now I hungered for vengeance, for violence; and as m indigo spheres absorb the dramatic scene unfurling before me, I found the perfect target to endure such punishment. Slithering through the tall grasses, I come tot he very edge of the park, some 4 meters from where a man and woman stand.

The woman is petite, refined, with hair that burns like fire even beneath the silken silver light of the moon. The male at her side is grubby and gritty, he wreaks of malice and booze as he drapes his arm across her shoulders. The female is obviously perturbed and swivels to place a sharp blow to the man's jaw. The little spitfire had spark, and her fighter's spirit appeals to my human nature, coaxing a smile to canine lips as sharp eyes gauge the male's reaction.

The fellow is stunned, the pungent aroma of anger oozing through greasy pores as one fist raises and pummels the young lady, throwing her backwards and to the ground as he advances upon her. Triangular ears flick back in agitation when the gleam of cruel steel flashes from his pocket. The coward!

A rumble of thunder drips dangerously from my lips, outrage burning hotly through my veins, searing my mind with crimson Ire. Oh yes, Someone would be getting stabbed this night, but it wasn't about to be some poor defenseless Female. Even a beast such as myself has a Code to live by.

Lunging from the thick grasses, I leap right over the grounded woman, landing with a sizable thud between she and her would-be attacker. Hackles flare to life like silver flames along my back, wild black-light pits staring the man down as muzzle crinkles into a feral snarl and ivory fangs shimmer with saliva. Banner whips from side to side with foreboding as that unholy sound raises in pitch from betwixt gnashing teeth.

The man falls short in his tracks, one lip tugging up in a sneer of his own and he tosses his knife from one hand to the other as he considers this new adversary. Some part of him doesn't wish to give up, and yet the other part is terrified, I can see it in the whites of his eyes, taste his fear through the sweat on his brow. "Stupid Mutt..." His grimy lips curse. Stubborn pride keeps him in place and he even ventures to take a daring step forward.

Stupid mistake, Buddy

I lunge for him in the same moment his arm begins to swing, jaws part and unerringly lace around the man's forearm, slamming shut with bone-crunching force. The sickening sound crackles in the eerie silence of the night and the man lets loose a howl of pain. The knife drops to the pavement with a clatter and I wrench the man around wildly as blood sprays the concrete and he attempts to beat me with his free arm. His fist pummels the side of my skull but his desperation weakens him as he becomes frantic.

My animal instincts react accordingly and I release his arm only to rear up and slam his chest with my forepaws. He falls awkwardly to the ground, much as his would-be victim had only moments ago. I am upon him at once, my monstrous weight pinning his writhing body beneath me as muzzle coated in his own blood comes within scant centimeters of his face. I can hear the thundering of his heart, the frantic pulse calling to me from the hollow of his throat and my eyes bore into his, telling him without words that he was at my mercy. Telling him with only the sincere hostility of my gaze that I was about to end his life, and I wanted him to watch as I took it. I wanted him to know what it meant to truly be helpless, to truly understand what it was to be the prey of a Genuine predator.

"Help me..." He choked out in a whisper, his eyes darting towards the copper-tone angel who looked on. "Please... Get it off me!" he hissed. A barking snap of my jaws cut off his pleas. He would be offered no mercy. He was not worthy to speak to one such as she.

He cringes, and I am about to go in for the kill, about to lavish my fangs in his life's blood and feel the satisfying squelch of his meager throat being crushed between my jaws. I would send him to the bowels of Hell where he belongs unless someone intervenes...
