South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

all this devotion was rushing over me, and the crashes are heaven, for a sinner like me, but the arms of the ocean deliver me.

It was fascinating to see what the world was like when you removed your influence. Humans believed they were at the top of some kind of food chain, as the apex predators of all of their environments. But what if they were wrong? In all actuality, it was more probable that they were wrong. With our machines and technology, humans and similar species were a farce of a predator; their weaponry was unnatural, and their powers taught instead of innate. We were compensating for instincts and natural protection that we had lost through our evolution into our biped, contemporary species. Was it so strange to think that perhaps, it wasn't us sitting on top of the food chain anymore? There were many other creatures that had powers beyond our belief as humans... But as supernatural creatures? The vampires physically fed on humans or others, while the witches and warlocks pretended to be better than the rest merely because they were able to dabble in the supernatural with elements given blatantly from Mother Nature. Fairies, oh, I don't know... They, too, had some distinction just like the Dark Hunters did. And the Weres?

The were population was fascinating, to me. We, as mirror images of our human brethren adorned only our human skin but they were able to step away from biped humanity and transform into wild creatures that served only their natural instincts. If that wasn't more powerful than machines and technology, then I don't know what is. Seeing a were-wolf in her animalistic form only reminded me of my own mortality and incompetence as an "apex predator". Perhaps the latter was something I could leave to the expert â€" a thought that arose while I was wondering if the snout that was now investigating my camera was going to open and huff and puff and blow me in. Instead, it struck me that she seemed curious, with eyes that widened as she took in the scene that was captured on film. Watching the light fill her eyes as she realized that yes, the picture was beautiful indeed, elicited a certain kind of satisfaction that gently tugged the corners of my lips up into a smile. It was obvious as she took in the photo that it pleased her, too. With her proud chest gently puffing out and her expression softening, I found that satisfaction in myself growing and turning into a brighter smile when her words vibrated in my mind once more.

"Well, I can see it. Let me see if I can't capture it on film for you, yeah?"

My words were spoken through a smile, the genuine intentions obvious through my voice. I lifted the camera back to my eyes, finding the scene of the perfect predator and her prey serene. More than happy to take several pictures for her, I allowed the camera to click multiple times and capture the essence of the magnificent animal I saw in front of me. When her feast seemed finished, I felt it was respectful to wait until she returned to me to show her the pictures and allow her to pick which ones she desired to keep for herself. Hopefully, what that would mean was that she too could see the beauty in her face and how spectacular she truly was...

"You look all fierce, here. You know you could make a living as a model," I said, the complimentary grin offered with a wink as I splayed the pictures in a fan-like motion so the wolf could take them in.
