South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.
Home of: The Cavalry

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. The University places a high focus both upon educating future generations but also on research to help revolutionize the world. That Kato seemed remarkably unphased by her whining was nothing new to the young fox. After all, one of the things she liked about the infuriating man that she'd grown so fond of was his innate stubbornness. It was good for her, she'd decided, to be challenged. After all, a man that would give in to her every whim would simply be boring. So when they'd gotten to the woods for her supposed training, she was only mildly surprised that he'd followed through on his plans. At least he'd listened to her when she'd demanded that it not be within the sight of her pack. Last thing she needed was Calliel commenting on how many times she would fall on her ass, or worse, Frost teasing her about it. In fact, she'd considered the whole lesson would be an easy waste of an afternoon. That it might be hard hadn't occurred to her, and it wasn't until Kato had knocked her down the second time did Edie actually look him square in the eye. The fury that erupted in her from being pushed to the ground was nothing compared to the fury that seemed to burst from her at the notion that she needed protecting. She didn't look at him as he offered his hand to help her up, instead pushing herself to her feet on her own. She didn't need him.

The insistence that she didn't need protecting was only met with another comment from the man, one that was met with a glare from the young woman. "I don't go chasing after trouble. I... It was one..." She sputtered, knowing damn well what it was that he was referring to. She'd already felt guilty about it, already cleaned up her own blood from the pack home, apologized to Frost until he had literally walked away from her. Her actions at the Ark had nearly gotten her killed, and she was in no hurry to rush herself into that situation again. She still felt the stab in her gut at how she'd been reduced to screaming Kato's name to save her. She knew damn well what would have happened to her if he hadn't gone with her, and more than her pride was wounded at the idea of that. Still she hardly protested any longer as she moved to place herself in the position he'd previously been asking of her, encouraging the man to teach her. Teach her so she wouldn't need the damn protection anymore.

Instinctively, she flinched as he stepped up to her, sure that he would throw her on her ass once more. His gentle touch hardly saw the woman relaxing, instead bending her knees as he was attempting to position her. At his touch, she brought her arms up, her fingers curling into a fist without her notice. It was only at his instruction that she opened them, albeit reluctantly. At his jab, she looked up at him. "Not true," She countered, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips at the memory. "I gave my..." She trailed off, unsure of how to address Beck for the man in front of her. "My friend. I punched him once and broke his nose. I didn't get hurt at all." She didn't elaborate, preferring to keep the details of the memory to herself. Still, it had caused a smile to work onto her features. Damn it. She'd thought of that idiot more in the past week than she had in the months since she'd fled Yorkshire.

Her eyes trailed after him as Kato circled her. Any thoughts of Beck were gone as his hands landed on her shoulder. Though his touch was certainly more gentle than it had been previously, it was still enough to cause her to sway on her feet, causing her to move to steady herself as she continued to watch him. That she wasn't stable enough and he was insistent on commenting on it sent another wave of annoyance through her, though she didn't speak this time, instead focused on the lesson he was set on teaching her. That Hunters would have weapons was hardly surprising news. They weren't as powerful as Weres, Edie had always been told, so they had to rely on the silver to do the work for them. She thought of the sting of the silver-tipped arrow that had sliced through her shoulder. Yes, disarming them so she didn't have to deal with that again would be the most ideal situation.

The feisty girl was content to listen to the lesson Kato was giving her, loosening up her form just enough that Kato could move her. At the sensation of his hands on her hips, she couldn't help but let out a tiny breath. It was so easy, even through the seriousness of their lesson, to crave his touch. "Like this?" She did the motion he instructed of her, though she failed to strike him until he gave her reassurance that she was doing it right. When he motioned for her to try the swing, the woman hardly hesitated in following through, throwing her body weight into the strike. That Kato merely chuckled after she struck him was exasperating for the young fox. "I didn't even move you," Edie's voice was clearly agitated. She supposed she should have hardly been surprised, after all, he was considerably larger than her petite form, and it wasn't as though she was particularly strong.

"I'm not an idiot," Edie mumbled, more to herself than anything before she looked up at him once more. "You do realize I don't look for trouble, right? I don't particularly enjoy bleeding." Still, the woman allowed him to maneuver her to the next strike he wanted her to try, the fox fully prepared to follow through until he spoke of what exactly it could do. That he wanted her to try the strike on him caused the girl to freeze. She could... hurt him. Really hurt him. And while she wasn't sure she had enough force to really make anything bad happen to him, the idea of it sent a wave of terror through the girl, immediately causing her hand to shake against his skin. What if she hurt him? She could heal, yes, but even she didn't know the limits of her power. What if she harmed him and couldn't save him? What if he'd end up like Beck, hurt and in her arms, relying on a power she wasn't even sure would work to save him?

The shaky breath that was forced from her lips caused the girl to step back away from the man, turning her back to him as she moved to sit on the ground, forcing her head between her legs as she attempted to catch the breath that felt as if it was being stolen from her. The pang in her chest was actually painful, rather akin to a hand wrapped around her lungs. It was just a strike, just a punch, just something to protect herself. Why did it feel like so much more? She couldn't even explain it to herself, so God, what would she say if he asked her what was going on? She was sure she couldn't â€" wouldn't â€" strike him in the way he wanted her to. Even if he trusted her to not hurt him, what if she did? What if she did? Oh god, what if she lost him?

Losing him would break her. The realization of that was enough to cause another tightness in her chest. No, no, no. This was exactly the kind of thing that she had been running from. And yet, here she was, feeling those same feelings for him. It was enough to force a panicked breath of air from her, the woman sure she wouldn't be able to explain what was going on in her mind to the man beside her. Oh, how she simultaneously wanted him to come hold her and to push him away. How she wanted to both feel the things she was feeling for him and run from them. The pull of both emotions left her where she was: sitting on the grass in the woods struggling to catch her breath, her arms wrapped around herself as though she could hold herself together.
