South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

At the suggestion that he should go get the contents of the safety deposit box and bring it home, Henry nodded instinctively. He supposed Sterling was right. He really should go get that box and see just who he was. He owed that much to himself. He had been living this false life and he needed answers. Sterling needed them too. After all, the boy had been kind enough to house Henry during this trying time. Perhaps he needed answers too. Maybe he was rich. Maybe Sterling wanted to be paid for his good deeds. No. That didn't seem like Sterling. But then again, did Henry really know him that well?

He sighed as he stepped away from Sterling, glad the closeness was no longer clouding his mind. After a brief moment of really thinking through Sterling's suggestion, he spoke. "Uh...yeah. That sounds good. I'll make us some dinner." While Henry was not at all a cook, the least he could do was have a hot meal prepared for when Sterling arrived home from work. And so, with that thought in his mind, he reached for the doorknob of the small closet and twisted it, pushing the door open. "See you tonight." Henry slipped past Sterling and started down the hall before stopping and turning back to Sterling. "Thanks for listening." And then he was gone, out of the kitchen and onto the street.

On his way home, he decided that he really needed to take a walk and clear his head. He needed to think about Sterling's offer. He wasn't sure he wanted to open the box. He liked his life. He had a job, a roof over his head, and a friend who helped him through everything. Secretly, Henry didn't want to fuck things up. He wanted to stay how he was. He didn't want to leave Sterling...and opening that box meant that he might have to leave.

Looking up, Henry realized that darkness had fallen over the city. The moon was full and Henry quietly uttered a "shit" under his breath. He shouldn't be out after dark on a full moon. Sterling had made sure that Henry understood that rule completely. Shoving his hands in his pockets, Henry hurried home, avoiding any contact with anything. He didn't want to draw attention to himself. There were too many in this city who might wish harm on him.

Just as he was entering the door to the apartment complex, Henry nearly tripped over the little white teacup Chihuahua named Sparkle. The little demon barked all the fucking time, but he was loved by his elderly owner, Mrs. Davis. Just as Henry was going to close the door and just let Sparkle get lost on the street, he heard Mrs. Davis calling out to Sparkle. The feeble woman was trying to run down the stairs and when she saw Henry, she called out to him. "Slow down, Mrs. Davis. I'll get Sparkle back...go on up to your apartment and I'll bring him to you." The old African American woman smiled and turned to head up the stairs. FUCK. What had he down.

Slipping back out the front door, Henry ran after the barking dog. The street light flickered in the distance, catching Henry off guard and making him trip on the curb. He fell forward, crashing onto some broken glass. Henry hissed in pain as he felt a shard of glass embed in his hand. Ripping his t-shirt, he wrapped his hand and vowed to one day kill that dog for causing him so much fucking pain and agony.

Suddenly, there was a sharp cry from the little demon and Henry looked up. The streetlight finally flickered out and Henry could just barely make out the little dog and something lurking in the shadows. It was dark and cunning and Henry just barely caught a glimpse of the green eyes. No. Fucking. Way. Some giant ass creature was about to kill the little dog. Henry should just let it eat Sparkle. All would be right in the world. But Henry couldn't go back home with no Sparkle. Mrs. Davis might die of sadness. Henry wasn't in the business to kill innocent old women, so he jogged forward, trying to insert himself between the dog and the creature. God better thank him later for this stupid act. He was going to get himself killed for trying to save Satan's own perfect creation: Sparkle.
