West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

His emerald eyes stared at those striped lines that flew past them, the encroaching darkness slowly chased off by the rising sun upon the horizon. Tetradore's thoughts wandered as they closed that distance between the quiet metropolis and the mountains that had once been their home, all those years ago. It was....curious to consider saying goodbye to that city, to leaving behind everything and everyone he fought so long for, even if their present attempt to escape would surely fail in the same manner every single one before it had. How he had once begged for freedom - and when Matteo refused to give it to him, how many times had he tried to snatch it himself? His hand slowly left the steering wheel, rising only for his fingers to brush against the sensitive skin of his shoulder, those deeper wounds were nearly wholly healed and yet, the indentations could still be felt underneath his fingertips. The very sensation of those teeth marks saw his gaze flutter towards the rearview mirror, the Alpha almost anticipating to see one of her sleek ebony cars in the reflection. He was almost surprised to see nothing but the silhouette of Sacrosanct behind him, only for his gaze to refocus upon the open road before him and the mountains that towered above them.

He pressed on the accelerator, encouraging the sports car further forward with the roads so deserted in such a fashion. His focus was almost solely settled upon maneuvering the vehicle around those twists and turns, the Were-King entirely silent as he both coped with all that had occurred tonight, that defeat that so tugged at him at finally fleeing, and the hopelessness that gripped him with the knowledge that all of it would be futile all the same. It was only the softened tone of Tobias' voice that pulled Tetradore from all that assaulted him, his emerald irises glanced towards the deviant at his side before Tetradore offered him a slight shrug, his gaze briefly drifted towards the dashboard and yet, truly, there was distinctly little stopping them from traveling the entirety of the day if such was what the boy desired. He hardly knew how far they would have to go to find true freedom. Was the other side of the country far enough? Or would they have to flee to the Southernmost point of the continent? Would even that be enough? Would he have to go to France to find freedom or would Risque drag him back even from there?

It was after a long moment of silence before Tetradore gestured towards the needle that indicated their gas tank before he admitted they would have to at least stop to refill - if only so they might be able to continue onwards until either of them felt like pausing. Frankly, that exhaustion was already fiercely tugging at him and yet he dared not mention such a thing when Tobias was so steadfast on this idea that they might outrun the woman that had terrorized Tetradore for so long. He could hardly help the yawn that crossed his lips, the man hardly oblivious to that glare he was given before the sound of the torn paper briefly caught his attention. The sweet scent of the French chocolate seemed to fill the vehicle and though, as Matteo had suggested, he had little desire for such a treat, the fae had told him of its necessity. Tentatively he reached out for the chocolate only to bring it to his lips. He bit into the creamy sweet, letting it melt on his tongue before his hand fell back down to his lap. He was content to nibble on that sweet as they climbed further an further upwards, the rising sun bathed the tops of those trees with bright orange light. For the next ten hours, they were afforded some level of safety - it was best to utilize it to the full extent they were gifted it.

A rare sort of still silence fell between the two men - interrupted only by the occasional muttering that left Tobias' lips. Tetradore himself was far more prone to be lost to those thoughts that tugged so heavily at him - the music on the radio all but ignored as the Were-King merely drove that car further onwards still. The plethora of evergreens that lined the scenic mountainous path, however, hardly lasted for much longer before that once winding road dumped the pair so abruptly onto a flat, dry and vast open highway. The asphalt was flat, extending forward far further then Tetradore could see with no immediate glimpse of civilization for miles. It was, admittedly, quite the dream - as far as those vehicles were concerned. Had the situation been different, Tetradore might have enjoyed all that unfolded before him. Now, however, he merely regarded it with the same sort of intense indifference he had largely held since they left the hull of the Ark. His gaze shifted from the road as Tobias abruptly sat up straighter in his chair, that grin upon the boy's features was eyed with a sense of weariness as Tetradore finally found himself admitting defeat on his plan of simply waiting till the deviant fell into a blissful slumber. No - there was little likelihood that he could leave the city and return without either Risque or Tobias notice. He knew, surely, there would be consequences to be had for tonight and yet, he supposed, perhaps seeing that grin on Tobias features again was worth all the trying he did, much less what would surely come in the wake of his escape effort.

The boy's inquiry prompted a soft exhale from Tetradore's lips and though he hardly provided any verbal response, his foot pressed harder on the accelerator. The sports car near roared with that acceleration, the vehicle effortlessly picked up speeds down that straight away till they were going well over the speed limit posted on the signs they near flew by. It was rare, those vehicles were given such a capability to be pushed to their full potential, most of their driving tended to be restricted to main thoroughfares where red lights could not be easily ignored. Tetradore's emerald eyes slid to the side at the near delighted shout from the boy's lips, Tobias quite clearly enjoying that ride he was afforded as the pair raced across the empty highway, miles eaten up under the spinning tires of the sports vehicle. It was, however, a billboard just off the highway that caught the Alpha's attention. His eyebrows furrowed as he glanced down at that ever lowering needle upon the gas gauge, the very sight of it prompted him to ease off of the gas, just in time to take that exit only a mile from the billboard itself. That glare he was given was unsurprising and yet that small gesture toward the gas station was all that was necessary for Tobias to understand their need to stop - temporarily.

Slowly, he pulled the vehicle in front of one of the many empty gas pumps, turning the car off before he slid from his seat. God, he was tired - after how long he'd been awake with but sugar in his system to encourage him onwards. His head shook ever so slightly as the man reached for the pump, sliding it into the car before he selected the type of gas he desired. For several moments, he leaned against the car, simply watching as it filled, his arms crossed over his chest as he stared near vacantly at the number upon the pump as it rose with each gallon of gas that was pumped into the vehicle. It was only the click of the pump declaring it was complete that brought the Were-King back to reality, his emerald eyes almost blinking back to reality before he moved to put the pump back and, instead, head for the store. His lips parted, a single glance given towards Tobias and yet, before he could even utter a single syllable, the boy cut him off with the declaration that he knew those rules before they even walked into the store. He watched with a subtle hint of approval as Tobias shoved his hands in his pockets, just as the pair got to the door of the gas station.

Tetradore approached the attendant's counter, pulling out his wallet only to glance up at the man's gesture towards the bright red sports car. Briefly, his gaze turned towards the vehicle only to flutter back to the cash in his wallet. "Uhh...it's a Koenigsegg Agera R." He responded as he laid the cash upon the counter, only for Tobias to wander over with a map. The folded paper was quickly passed back towards Tobias with the assertation that it was free, only for the attendant to inform them both that they were presently at the last gas station for miles. Great. At least it promised nothing but open roads ahead of them, he supposed. His lips parted at the man's inquiry of where they were going, only for Tetradore's childhood friend to so abruptly inform the man that they were not going anywhere at all. A soft sigh left his lips as Tobias so abruptly marched towards the door with his map in hand, leaving Tetradore to see to the payment of the gas and any further goods. "We'll take the water, I guess. How far is it till the next stop?" He inquired, pausing to glance down the snack aisle.

The man listened with only vague intrigue as the gas station attendant rattled on about the next town and those few stops along the way that might prove some sort of a scenic point. It wasn't until several minutes later that Tetradore emerged from the gas station, a single but filled plastic bag dangling from his fingertips as he approached his childhood friend and the paper spread out across the hood of the vehicle. Tetradore glanced down at the map in front of him, reaching forward to turn it around till it was facing the correct side before he found the line that represented the highway they were presently on. "We're here." He commented, his finger pressing on the line. "The next town is here." Tetradore followed the line further to the right, hours drive further east. Tobias insistence that it was already the middle of the day prompted a soft sigh from the Were-King before his gaze rose from the map. "He said there was a hotel over there." Tetradore gestured to the small road that led away from the highway. "We could sleep for a few hours and get back on the road before nightfalls." It was, admittedly, a particularly pleasing idea even if it would be but a few hours of sleep when Tetradore so desired to spend the majority of his day curled up in his bed.
