East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

In truth, Alexander was concerned particularly little with hair color or gender. After all, he had met his fair share of utterly astounding women. There were women who were mastermind manipulators, women whom could move all of nations to war or up turn society. He had met women of all hair colors and nationalities across centuries. There was much to be said for a woman. Hell, there was less to be said about hair color. Historians couldn't even decide his own damn hair color so, to be quite frank, he didn't chalk up a lot to any such nonsense that blondes were somehow less intelligent than the rest of the world. He'd been around before the stereotype even existed - back when the aristocrats of certain countries were almost entirely blond. It was funny how things changed like that what was seen as a blessing then was but a curse now, or vice versa in some aspects. Regardless, it was the age of the young woman in front of him that might have perhaps made him look down on her. Though really in that department there were decidedly few he couldn't look down on. Canyons of lifetimes spanned before the pair sitting so quietly within his quaint and cozy shoppe. She was still naive and innocent and he was far too jaded.

Alexander's eyebrow rose ever so slightly at the waving of a hand he was presented with though he hardly regarded it for any real length of time, instead returning to his tea and carefully prepared and rather delectable meal. Make no mistake, Alexander was entirely listening to the young woman though her reaction was nothing short of entirely usual for the nearly ancient man. It wasn't often he revealed his identity to those outside of the Dark Hunter ring. Few this decade even knew of his continual existence and yet those who did always met him with either awe or disbelief. He preferred the former reaction, of course. Her words, however, merely mirrored the man's already too considered thoughts of ages and ages past. Oh how he had fought with his creator on that very topic. Once upon a time, it had killed him to turn away from his army and leave behind all he had created only to watch it crumble whilst he chased down what was essentially town gossip of a witch parading as an oracle of Horus. Alexander could offer the young woman little more than a small shrug of his shoulders, his blue-green gaze slowly shifting back towards her. "They were stuck in their ways then and that was a long time ago." The words held a hint of despondency to them, as if he had already accepted that any changes he might have made were far too long out of his reach for any continued dwelling (even if he often did just that). Instead, Alexander merely let the conversation drift on to the young were's last rights once it slowly dawned on her not only who but also what he was.

It was hardly the mention of whether or not she was offended that caught Alexander's attention, chasing off any lingering woes he had of the life he'd lost. Oh no, it was the mention of one singular name that captured the Macedonian King. "You're the niece of Azrael? Alekai Azrael Evero? ÏŒÏ"ι γαμημένο Ï...ποκριÏ"ήÏ,." The curse once again flies within his native tongue, his annoyances clearly getting the better of him. "He flirts with a witch and his niece is a were and he has the audacity to tell me I'm not doing my duty?" Oh yes, Alexander knew well of the ongoings of the council members. He tended to make it his priority when he crossed cities or fell under a new domain, so to speak. Still, he fell silent afterwards, finishing his own meal and letting the girl sit in her awkward silence for several moments longer. Alexander glanced up at her only from the sympathetic tone in her voice, depositing his plate on the coffee table next to him. Another shrug crossed the man's shoulders, despite the fashion at which the young woman's truth rang particularly true. He tried not to dwell on it much - on how his life was wasted, on how alone he was and speaking of it surely didn't help that goal. "I'm waiting in a cafe." He corrected her, his gaze turning towards the windows and the darkness outside. "....waiting for the next interesting war." Alexander clarified, letting his voice softly trail off.
