East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She seems interested in everything I have to say. Apparently she doesn't have a lot of people to have these witty debates with. Hell, I don't mind. Of course, that gets ruined a little when I have to show my fangs. I should have known she would have a phobia about other species. I'm sure it didn't help that I almost broke the guy's arm but hey, he would have deserved it. I'm sure she's playing out a million different scenarios where I bite her and leave her drained of all her blood in some dirty alley way or ditch. Of course, that's not what I plan on doing at all but she doesn't know that. She seems a little surprised by my laughter but then she smiles herself. Good, she does have a sense of humor. She listens as I talk about the things that won't hurt me and the things that will. Then she asks about the sun.

"Well, not exactly. More like I'd burst into flames and start burning to death. Like someone stuck in a house fire but in fast forward. Very painful and...smelly."

I wrinkle my nose as if I can smell the burning flesh now. Overall though she does seem interested in what I'm talking about. I guess it must be intriguing to talk to a real vampire about everything since she can trust the source. At least, as far as she knows. When she changes the subject to the Weres, I tilt my head, intrigued. I smirk, liking how confident she can be in some of her opinions. What started out as just hesitant speculation has gotten a pipe on her now. I like it. My eyes glitter with approval.

"I agree. If you take out distractions then loyalty is cemented, like cults and those old fashioned hillbilly families that interbreed and stuff. Otherwise, people tend to make their own opinions about things. I hope you'll do the same."

My tone hits home. I want her to open her mind up to other species. I can tell how uptight she is about other supernaturals and I hope in some way I can help with that. She seems surprised herself by how vocal she was about her opinion. As the night wears on, she gets a shy spot again, wrapping her arms around herself. Finally she looks toward a house across from us and assures me that this is the place. I glance up at it. Seems homely enough. At her question, I tilt my head, offering a smirk as my eyes dance wih amusement.

"I snack on biscuits and I sip on tea. The real question is, do you truly want to invite a vampire into your home or are you just trying to be polite cause I'd hate to make you uncomfortable."

There's a light tease in my voice. I'm really working on trying to lighten her up some. I don't technically have to be invited in to enter her home but old fashioned manners dictate that be the case. She doesn't have to know that though. Let her have her thoughts of safety. She goes on and I figure I should stop her while she's ahead.

"Well I appreciate it but I'll only come in if you convince me you really want to continue this conversation."

I cross my arms, watching her with curiosity, wondering how she'll respond.
