East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

There was no denying that this was a particularly peculiar situation for the Macedonian King. Alexander had never been left before by those whom had held his interest. He had always been enough in the past. He'd held enough lands, accumulated enough wealth, acquired enough titles that so few even contemplated washing their hands of him. Then again, Alexis was perhaps different in every regard. After all, he had failed to inform her of whom he was, hell, he'd never even gotten around to what he had to offer here. There was merely the astonishment that she had held interest within him and that he, in turn, felt some blossoming sensation of affection. And now....here they were, with her wanting back into his life as nothing more but his employee. It was certainly a blow to his ego. And yet, despite that, he largely suspected there was more to this then simply meets the eye. After all, she was very much here, still willing enough to spend her days within his presence. Alexander, however, being the entirely conniving creature he was, refused to simply accept that what they had was over, not without her explicit verbal distaste of him. He was, at the very least, a forward man - always willing to take what he wanted and stop at nothing to obtain it.

He strode so purposefully across that small distance that separated them, his fingertips reaching out to touch the girl's flesh as he drew her gaze upwards, nearly forcing her to face him. A small frown crossed his lips as her eyes flickered close, denying him that which he sought and yet, the man was all too aware in that moment of her thoughts dancing across his own mind. She had, despite the time that had passed, been the only individual whom he had shared this gift with. He took such great care now a days to ensure he didn't touch his customers or his employees and, to be fair, there was a certain sort of familiarity of her thoughts brushing against her own. He was aware, nearly instantly, of that fear she felt though of what he could hardly place. He knew she was making every effort to keep something hidden from him, to push her mind from his and in that moment, Alexander's confidence wavered. Had he truly so displeased her that she still held some fear of him when he had touched her before with such care? Was it really that terrible to have him here in such an intimate place of hers?

His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly at the response he was given, clearly not expecting an answer such as that. His sea colored eyes shifted from the young woman in front of him, his lips pressing together ever so slightly in discontent. Such an answer nearly seemed to suggest to him that Alexis' interest within him was strictly for his own benefit rather than a shared want and yet, he couldn't help but to wonder what had so changed to bring them to this point? Once she had yearned for his touch, for his gaze, for his lips and now? Now Alexander wasn't quite so sure. Still, the Dark Hunter found himself leaning closer towards her, inquiring exactly what she had anticipated for him now that she had returned from where ever she had so disappeared to. His head shook ever so slightly at the young woman's words, a soft sigh left the ancient man's lips. "Alexis, I don't want anyone else. I want you." Alexander's fingertips dropped from the young girl's chin, giving her back the sanctuary of her mind since she seemed to so dislike his invasion. "You know, I am over two thousand years old. I think this past month was my birthday...." His voice trailed off for a moment, clearly trying to remember the current month. He cleared his throat, bringing himself back on point as his gaze turned back towards her. "The time in which you were gone feels like days to me. It would take far longer than that to simple forget you for another." In this aspect, perhaps, his immortality was within her favor.
