East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm more alive than I've ever been

So long the day and hard the toil he must have endured in order to see the pub returned to the majesty that had been its consuetude until but hours prior. The notion of disposing of the vacant, fleshy shells of their adversaries had laden Isolt's body with dread, the mere thought of laying hands to her Maker enough to herald the harsh sting of bile to her throat. Never had there been a warm touch exchanged between creator and progeny, any moments in which Risque had seen fit to lay hands to her creation were ones saturated with terror, agony intended to cripple both Isolt's body and her mind. So deep was the young vampire's learned recoil that just the sound of the elder woman's heels had been enough to set her pale skin to crawling. And so to find that not only she but all of her comrades had been transported to their respective resting places in order to traverse that final threshold was... overwhelming.

More so was the realization that all else had been mended for her. By him. It cannot be rightly said whether it is the emotional toil of the night past, the immaculate repair of her establishment, or the appearance of the man to whom she owed more now than she had ever before that had drawn the tears to skate the perilious edges of her buttom lids. Or, perhaps more likely still, a culmination of the three. Isolt was, and would be forevermore, absolutely astonished by the tireless lengths that Tetradore seemed willing to go to in order to make her happy, to ensure her safety. He had defied the will of their mistress in order to free her, he had challenged the laws of her species in order to bring her a sunrise, and now he had given her back what was perhaps her last recognizable safe haven. He had proven time and again his care for her, and Isolt found herself at a complete loss of how she might ever satisfy this recompense.

She melts into his embrace willing, resting her weary head against the broad expanse of his chest and wrapping her arms around him. Her sobs quiet in time, comforted in some unspoken, immeasurable way by his presence, his embrace, and the soft beating of his heart as it thrums away within his chest. "I don't know how I could ever thank you enough," she whispers finally. Words to reflect the endless gratitude that hums through every inch of her are lost, and so this simple attempt at even a portion must suffice for now. Isolt is in awe of his compassion; perhaps there did not exist any sufficient words for this. "It doesn't feel real, does it? I keep waiting for her to come back through that door but... she's gone. We're free." If this was really true, though, if her chains were indeed broken and her shackles removed... why still did such a weight press upon her heart?
