East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Tonight there was movement in the air, the stirring of creatures in this city could be overwhelming to the senses. Although Yejide did at times keep to the less densely popular areas that the supernatural inhabited for fear of her safety. She was not at the top of the food chain here, she wasn't at the bottom but she was nowhere near as feared as the hunters were, or the other creatures that harbored a bloodlust. Deep inside her chest though Yejide knew she could be a creature to rip through flesh and break bone, she could feed off the fear of men and women and become a predator to be feared. It was deep within her nature, but it was so deep that if she tried to grasp it it would be like trying to walk across a thinly iced pond. It would be dangerous, she wouldn't survive.

For now the smell of ground coffee beans, warm food, and vanilla would drown her senses, it was if a warm ghostly hand was resting on the side of her face, stroking the skin and sweeping her into a placid mood. True there was irritation bubbling beneath her skin at her brother for not even explaining the damn phone that was laying on the wooden table- but that could not overcome the relaxing atmosphere around her either. The sounds of voices humming along with conversation and the generic music playing with acoustics and wavering vocals hung in the air. She was savoring it. It sounded like the little promises she needed that she was safe and the world was okay for now.

With a bit of surprise she turned to the man who had approached her and watched him settle himself in the open chair across from her. With unease she studied him for the moment, caution in her gaze, but there was an otherworldly feel to him. He hummed with magic, smelling as much of the magic that possessed him as she knew she smelled of starlight- no matter what perfume she placed onto her skin, it was ingrained into their bodies as the creatures they were. His was telling, and she would know if she studied him more deeply. He didn't have the faint dry scent clinging to his skin as vampires did- or the feral animalistic one of weres. Which of course made her think he was perhaps like her, not that she knew any fae out of the star-sect. But there was that familiarity that he was cut of the same cloth as she was.

"I-" she didn't want him to think she was stupid, she wasn't! She was just out of touch with much of the technology. But she pushed the phone across the table to him, "I don't know how to open texts, I'm-" she searched for the correct term, "not very tech-savvy." She wasn't going to invite him to stay and chat- not if he turned his motives into something malicious. She didn't know him, there was no doubt about that.
