East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The fennec fox remained entirely amused by the kiss that had been so planted on her lips, the girl hardly willing to back down as she kissed Nadya back. She felt the girl's surprise at the way she returned the kiss, and that only seemed to encourage Edie's enthusiasm in the kiss. She was grinning when Nadya pulled back, the tease brought to her lips so easily. It was hard, she supposed, to imagine her Alpha kissing the girl. Not that Frost wasn't capable or that Nadya wasn't beautiful, but more that it left a wake of jealousy that Edie couldn't quite explain. Edie's feelings for Frost were such a gray area, one that she herself was only beginning to understand, and she hated the idea that Frost might love another, even if she herself had given her heart to Kato. Those thoughts seemed so ripped away from her the instant that Nadya complimented her, and she couldn't help but laugh. "I get plenty of practice, I assure you."

Still, the seriousness of the situation had Edie pursing her lips together, running a hand through those dark locks of hers as she eyed the girl warily. "I think she's new. She sure knew her way with a hunting knife though. I... have no intentions of seeking her out again." She rubbed the back of her neck, letting out a soft sigh. She had no intentions of telling her how she had provoked the girl, or how it was Frost's toying with Tetradore's girlfriend that had started this mess for her in the first place. She found she hardly wanted to talk about that lest she give more information that necessary, and it was that alone that had her switching the subject to ask to stay within the burlesque and hide from Kato's questioning and worrying gaze. She expected that Nadya would turn her away - she was the Beta of a rival pack after all. But she was pleasantly surprised when the girl nodded instead.

She was entirely pleased when Nadya returned with the shot of whiskey, the girl readily reaching out to wrap her fingers around the glass as she brought it close to her. She didn't drink it right away, instead her thoughts entirely on the words that the woman offered her. She smiled instantly as Kato was brought up, the woman seeming... brighter somehow at the mention of her boyfriend. "I am lucky at that, indeed." She commented, then shook her head. "No, we met here, in Sacro." She grinned. "I was living out in the woods for awhile. We met one of my last days out there, when I was still trying to move into the pack house. He led some Hunters right to me, and I got shot, and the rest is history." She chuckled at the memory of their meeting, one that was still laced with such fond memories for the girl. It was only when Nadya questioned her title of Beta that Edie's thoughts darkened, her mind latching onto those feelings of not being good enough for the role that she'd had back in England.

"Frost wanted me," She spoke softly. "He thought I was capable, and I wasn't with Kato yet. Kato actually... isn't even a part of the pack. He and Frost hate each other. The first time they met, Frost punched Kato." She smiled at the memory of it all. "I don't know that he'll join the pack, even if he does become my mate. I think he likes being not... he's loyal to me, of course... but he likes being independent. The pack he grew up in didn't operate like one here." She let out a breath. "But I am in love with him. I wish that he would commit to the pack... I'm still afraid that he's going to choose to go back to Africa and not... stay with me. But I don't know how to tell him that without scaring him off." She looked up at Nadya, her eyes almost pleading for some sort of advice on the subject.
