East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Those sea colored eyes glanced up from his diligent work on that emerald bracelet, one eyebrow rising ever so slightly at the words that so fell from William's lips - words of innocents and unnecessarily spilt blood. Such prospects were altogether obscene to Alexander. After all, how many had he so commanded to their deaths for simply serving the township of their King? How many he had ushered across that cold icicle river of Styx for simply existing? Were they innocent? Perhaps. But did it matter? No. His blue-green gaze so stared at the man and yet, any further effort at words were cut off entirely by a sharp quip from the youthful appearing female in front of him. Although this William might have been entirely ignorant of his existence, he knew well Anastasia knew the full breadth of all he had accomplished and all the lives he had so taken. The man was but a child pouting next to a veritable god. His gaze slowly turned towards the Duchess, content to simply ignore the man in the corner of his flat, handing the woman that stone bracelet he'd so been assiduously been working on. The ancient bracelet was perhaps far more of importance to him then this English serial killer, the man leaning back in his chair ever so slightly to simply observe his creations in that altogether rare moment.

He watched the way in which the emerald color was so reflected in the young woman's irises as the nearby flames so cast their flickering light upon that stone, the colors nearly dancing despite how many years it had once remained lost within the depths of that arctic cave. His gaze briefly met her own and yet, naught a word left his lips, such spoken affection decidedly non-existent between himself and his metaphorical child. He remained still as she leaned forward, her lips brushing but sweetly against his own cheek. The corner of his lips twitched ever so slightly at those quietly muttered Russian words, "Vash priyem, moya doch'." (You're welcome, my daughter). He responded, those words but a murmur upon his lips before a soft sigh so left his mouth. His attention turned wholly back to the Ripper he had so ignored for those tender moments. The hunter's gaze trailed from head to toe of the man he was presented with, inquiring as to he had been brought before him the first place. His head tilted ever so slightly to the side as he listened in mute silence as William so proclaimed his own affinity and yet, the man seemed utterly peculiar to the Macedonian King, both prideful and sorrowful in the exact same moment. How inquisitive indeed.

His attention shifted towards Anastasia herself as she so proclaimed her intent, providing him with that missing piece that so told of the Council's relentless desire for this one particular Hunter. "A chto vy delayete s sovetom?" (And what are you doing with the council?) He inquired, a certain level of sharpness to his tone. "You should know better then to be involved with them, it is utterly useless bureaucracy. Chert, litsemery." (Damn, hypocrites). He shook his head from side to side, before he gestured to the chair across from him. "William, sit." He commanded, entirely used to his demands being adhered to. "Anastasia here informs me you are relatively useless so tell me, what can you do beyond turn into a manic murderer?" He cared particular little for how such words might sting or the memories they might so well bring up. After all, the horrific moments he'd witnessed in the nearly two millenniums hardly compared to the youthful Hunter before him. Oh, if only William knew with whom he was dealing with.
