East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

East
we stopped checking for monsters under our beds,

when we realized they were inside of us all along.

Her touch is foreign to him, his flesh burning each time she dares to infiltrate his personal space. His body rejects this game she plays, skin crawling under his thick pelt. He is one who has no sense of boundaries, and yet here she goes doing to him what he does to others. His response, a lift of his lip to reveal pearly daggers tho she ignores his warning. His flesh heats up with her touches almost distracting him from the situation at hand.

Almost.

The smell is terrible, like rotting flesh. He has grown quiet, gone still for within him all things fade. The shadows seem to crawl from their dwelling place, whispering to him as they slide over his flesh and into his mind. They slither inside his mind like snake, the whispers growing into full voices. They have returned and with them, a desire. Muscles expand under his bodice, tongue sliding out to drag along his whiskered face. A rumble, it flows within his chest spilling out like a smooth waterfall. The others are near. So intense is his mindset he does not notice the girl drift into the shadows but he does the same. From the east he moves in, shadows forming in his eyesight. All he can see his black, the world around him dissolving revealing the pale creature before him. They reek of blood, from old kills and new. Such a waste for on normal terms blood is enough to draw the lust out of the maned beast that lurks in the darkness. Not when they carried it inside them though.

Just what was it he was viewing? Three of them, one finishing off what appeared to be a teenage boy, a slender little thing with long dark hair to match his clothes. How pale he looked, blood drained from his body. On any other occasion, the lion would have left, annoyed by the presence of the night crawlers. Not tonight, he was starving, his voices so loud he feared the world would hear them and blow his cover. Silence though, it falls as the boy's body does, the last one to bring a napkin to his lips as if finishing off a meal at dinner. Males, all three of them were such. Talons dig in the earth, it wouldn't be long before they were spotted. Might as well make an entrance.

Like a wave he rises from the shadows, front paws landing with a massive shake upon the earth. Those jaws part, canines shining in the limelight as his chest rumbles. From within it draws deep, exploding into the air like fire. A roar, it breaks through the still silence and echoes long after he ceases his battle cry. Lips curl, and he charges.

Their fast, the three spreading apart like wildfire as they realize just exactly what is happening. He is just as fast, leaping from the ground as his massive body collides with one of them. Paws pin on his back, the voices in his head screaming in victory as he lowers his own head. Talons dig into the dead flesh of the night walker, pinning him as his teeth part once more by the prey's ear. Another roar ignites like fire, saliva spilling from his mouth as he can feel the vampire hiss and claw at his face. A hand draws too near and his jaws clamp down, feeling the bones and flesh rip away like fabric. Too easy, why was this too easy? Something isn't right and yet he continues, blinded by the bloodlust as he rips him apart piece by piece, his savage breaking free as arms fly away, legs, chunks of his back and finally, as his eyes meet the pleading angry eyes of the other supernatural, he smiles, breaking into a snarl before latching on to his neck and ripping head from shoulders. It rolls, the viking watching greedily. It isn't over though, and the now blood covered lion turns to fixate on the rest of the battle, just now remembering who he was there with as her lithe, sleek bodice breaks into view.
