East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He knew it was in Yumi's nature never to speak ill of anyone. She probably never had a mean thought in her lifetime, either alive or undead. Innocence and good intentions just seemed to imminate from her like a glow. In many ways, she was so much better than him but he was still glad to count her as one of his friends. She was always so easy to inspire when he took her places and he liked to impress her. He loved seeing that wide eyed look on her face when she came across something new. She seemed to enjoy fair tales. He wanted to show her that she could live in whichever one she chose. She was beautiful in an exotic way and he wanted to make her see that. She deserved to be in places just like the one he was taking her to. She deserved happiness and a charming man to have on her arm. He was sure she would find that some day. She wasn't always as easy to miss as she must assume.

She stuck to his side like glue as they maneuvered past the bouncer. He could sense her hungry gaze sweeping over the room and he raised a brow, intrigued at her choice. It seemed she would always surprise him. It seemed she always wanted the opposite personality of that which she so humbly bore. He didn't know if it changed by order of present company or if that's just what she always did but none the less, he liked watching the change in her. Not that he didn't like her as she was; he was just curious of her powers. They were so unlike others he'd seen. It seemed she was hesitant to approach her chosen prize though. Damon only helped to help so he laced his arm through hers with confidence and tugged her gently right toward the table. She didn't put up a fight so he could only assume she was alright with his assistence, her shyness seeming to lift if only a little when he started talking to the man. All it took was one glance and the man was under his spell. With humans, it always seemed that the more confidence they held, the easier they were to sway.

He motioned for Yumi to slide right into the seat next to the man and smirked lightly at her soft words of gratitude. As he continued a useless line of conversation with the man, he could sense Yumi's attention elsewhere, drawing herself close to the man. If he focused hard enough, he swore he could almost see something fluttering in the air between them and wondered if she was already feeding. It seemed he got his answer though when the man suddenly glanced at her in curiosity of her closeness and she pertly replied that he smelled yummy. Damon's brow rose at the remark, noting the wink she gave her victim with a small chuckle.

"She does have a nose for certain smells."

He assured the man, making the man laugh easily. As she turned back to him, he tilted his head at her gratitude before nodding.

"Any time, darling."

He was caught by surprise as she leaned in to kiss his cheek, his lips curling into a lopsided grin as he dutifully got to his feet and held out his arm to help her up. He nodded his head in a farewell to the man.

"Well, you heard the lady. Places to be."

The man waved farewell as he waited for her to rise and gave her an expectant look.

"Well then, where would you like to go next?"
