East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It is no great mystery, this enduring attraction that she has for him; it transcends so far beyond the physical, though Isolt could have never denied that she found him quite handsome. But it was hardly this superficial pleasantness that had her seek him out; no, it was something that existed far deeper within her that called for his presence... especially in these moments of increasing desperation and weakness. In the aftermath of her rather sudden demise, when all else had slipped from her grasping fingers with the fluidity of desperately-clutched sand, Isolt thirsted for someone to see, to understand, more than she craved anything in the entirety of her life. Raven's kindness despite the omnipotent threat of danger posed by her newly-turned vampire counterpart had been nothing short of a blessing, a shard of light to pierce through the oppressive dark. However, though her attempts at understanding had been valiant, Isolt was left helpless in the battle that loneliness waged within her... so often leaving her heart amidst the rubble of the raging war.

And so it was him that she looked to for understanding, for guidance and, perhaps above all else, for hope. Hope that death, even one as brutal and damaging as hers had surely been, would not prove the end of her soul. Perhaps it was this experience, their shared voyage beyond the clandestine and thin otherworldly veil of death, that breeds the blossom of comfort within the salted garden of Isolt's heart and heralds a smile to the cushions of her lips. The simplistic caress he bestows upon her does not see the young woman recoil as she might otherwise have. Instead, the oceanic blue of her eyes simply rise to meet the enigmatic grey of his, warmth breaking through the icy veneer that sorrow has built. So complete is the relief coaxed to life by his touch that, when he pulls away, the softest of regretful sighs whispers from her lips.

It is a lament that is short-lived, however, obliterated near-entirely with the mention of some waiting surprise. A toothy grin radiates its light unto every feminine slope of her façade, her brow crinkling with the evidence of her amiable curiosity. Carefully Isolt proffers her own hand, delicate fingers entwining with his, allowing herself to be lead from the unpleasant ruckus of the crowded tavern. The flame-haired girl walks obediently beside her impromptu guide, the suppleness of her hand remaining nestled in his. She is silent for a time before she succumbs quite readily to the curiosity that burns vigorously within, turning to her counterpart, a look of naïve and radiant innocence burning gloriously within those soft blue eyes. "Where are we going?"
