East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Perhaps this was a bad idea. A very, very bad idea. The moment the man turns around, Miya can't help but take a step backwards as the man turns around, his eyes utterly predatory and she has a sudden remembrance of when her friend had partway shifted into her other form. Swallowing that fear that threatens to overtake her, she is drawn in to him, frozen into place as he simply stares at her with those dark eyes. The moment his words leave his lips she can't help but flinch at the sound, his baritones loud in the night, "Um... Hawthorne Village," she mutters quietly, dropping those chocolate eyes to the sidewalk as her hands twist nervously in her messenger bag's straps. Would it be rude if she simply decided to walk away? She could change her mind, right? She wars with herself internally, the man silent for a moment and he makes no move to offer her his phone. This would be so much more simple if she hadn't dropped the blasted thing!

As that blush so readily touches her face, she can't help but feel the burning in the tips of her ears, her body flushing with heat from her embarrassment. She wished she could blame it on the hot summer night, yet, it was nice, cool, perfect for an evening walk - if you weren't the one getting lost. Miya is entirely lost in her train of thought, half hoping he would point her in the right direction, half hoping he would simply tell her to go away. At this point, she wasn't really sure what she wanted. The sound of his voice has her snapping back to attention, her chocolate eyes darting back to his face. How badly she wanted to shrink away from him and yet, she was still frozen in place, her feet glued to the ground. Wait - did he just say someone was following her? As that thought finally registers in her mind, she can't help but widen her eyes in first in surprise and then utter terror follows shortly after.

Whirling around, her hands drop from her strap as she quickly begins to rummage through her bag for that pepper spray she always kept, only to realize she had left it on her counter at home. Hands shaking, she lets her eyes scan the darkness, hardly seeing anything of note as she takes a couple of steps backwards. It couldn't be that vampire again, could it? She had seen Alexander kill it with her own eyes! Maybe they really were invincible, maybe he managed to come back to life. They were called the undead for just that reason. Inhaling quickly, fear radiates from her small form, the stranger behind her entirely forgotten in that moment as she tries desperately to make out a figure, any figure. Without thinking, she takes several more steps backwards until she is crashing into the large man, her back hitting a solid wall of muscle. Letting out a squeak of surprise, she whirls around, her heart hammering in her chest as she glances up at him wide eyed.

"I, um, really need to get going," she says, fear threatening to take hold of her very words as she shakily begins to walk away. Her steps hurried as she puts her head down and begins to move past the stranger and down the sidewalk in the opposite direction. Truly, if she had been more observant, she might've tried to at least cross the street instead of continuing on her path, yet, she still had no idea where she was going, she just knew she needed to be away from here. Reaching her dainty hands back up, she hangs onto the strap of her messenger bag as if it was her lifeline, her chocolate eyes glancing over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed. Finding nothing, the knot of tension that twists her insides doesn't quite loosen, though she does let out a breath she isn't entirely aware that she's holding.

Rounding the corner, she lets her eyes move back to watch in front of her only to find a man standing there, held tilted as he watches her with a vicious smile. Halting, mid stride, she stares, unable to take her gaze off him, the man not quite... human. Miya is quite certain her heart skips a beat, unable to look away as the man suddenly smiles, baring those fangs at her. She immediately regrets leaving the stranger, being with him would have been far better than this scenario, unless he was the one that set this up. Cold hands reach up, clenching her slender arms with bruising force as he slams her into the side of the wall, her head cracking back onto the bricks. She doesn't have time to scream as she sees stars, a small whimper escaping her lips as she blinks away the blackout that had surely been close. "Pretty girl, let's have some fun," he hisses at her, Miya still unable to speak as she stares at him wide eyed, the poor girl terrified. There was no Alexander to save her this time, there was no pepper spray, there was nothing except her own wits, "Let me go," she forces her voice out, though it wavers fiercely. The vampire merely grins at her, doing no such thing. The poor girl hardly had the best of luck with nighttime strolls.
