East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

I would let her do anything if she were but to ask. Isolt is my weakness and always will be, I guess. I like everything about her, from her laugh, her smile, to that twinkle in her eyes when she gets what she wants. Her eyes lit up like fireworks when I told her she could pick out decorations for my house and that made it all worth it. I'm usually a Scrooge when it comes to holidays. I don't decorate, I just wish for it to go away until it does. I hate crowds, I hate all the caroling and Christmas lights and all the lines, god, the lines. But she seems to love it so I let her immerse herself in it, all to see that smile that I like so much. When she finally comes out of the store, I see that her arms are already full with bags and I can't help the soft groan that escapes my lips. I make it more light hearted though by giving her an amused smirk, my eyes twinkling slyly as I watch her walk to the car. My brow lifts when I notice the slight frown on her face at first, like she's thinking of something distasteful. Once more I wish I could read her thoughts and know what's troubling that beautiful mind of hers.

As she gets closer, I wish I could use xray vision to see inside those bags too. What's she thinking? I can't stop thinking about our last time together. The jump, the kiss, the damn snake girl. She was ruining a perfectly good car ride, not to mention the perfectly good car she dented. That bumper wasn't cheap. But at least it was fun to work on. I've always enjoyed getting under the hood and I do enjoy time with my baby. But I got it all fixed up and it's running like a champ again. I hope Isolt appreciates the effort. She did say she knows a thing or two about classics. She'll still have to share that story some day. As she gets closer to the car, I watch her eyes light up. She looks so excited to be holiday shopping. She heads to the passenger seat and I sit as relaxed as possible, waiting with bated breath as she notices the box on the seat. She stares at it for a moment and I just wait, a grin slowly growing on my lips. She slowly slides into the seat and picks up the box and I sit there and wait, my arm drawn across the steering wheel with lazy ease. I look over again as she says my name and my eyes gleam at her question as I shrug and look straight ahead, putting the car in gear.

"I don't know. Why don't you open it and find out?"

I watch her from my peripheral vision, wondering what she'll think of the petite charm bracelet I found in a jewelry store the other day. I even bought a few charms for it to get her started. A car, the closest I could find that looks like my car to remind her of her favorite chauffeur, a microphone to remind her of the first place we met, the rock concert when she was still a human. A droplet, to remind her who taught her how to drink and not kill. A song note, to remind her of the dance that night that brought us closer together. And a bird, to remind her of the night she flew, and the one who held her hand through it all.
