East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Alexander's gaze remained steadfast upon the lithe female as he stood at the base of the stairs. He was careful to ensure he didn't breach her established bubble of protection, attempting to guide the young woman with his voice alone. He paused at the stop of the steps, his gaze briefly fluttering over the flat. It had been years since anyone beside himself had been up in the cafe's loft. The open-planned apartment was cluttered with trinkets, books and weapons he had collected over the years. Some were worth millions - artifacts that had been "lost" to the world while others held sentimental value for Alexander alone. At the very least, he was pleased that everything looked relatively clean. He made his way purposefully towards the living area of his apartment, glancing behind him at the young girl's voice. "It is." He confirmed simply. Alexander had lived in palaces and exquisite manors through out his life. He'd live in elaborate three story Victorian houses and yet, lately, this small apartment had become his favorite. "I'd have it no other way." He added softly, more to himself then his guest.

His attention shifted back towards the fireplace he was knelt in front of, tossing a log into the cold hearth as he attempted to coax the fire to life. Fire tending was just another skill from his younger years, one that he'd managed to retain if only because it reminded him all too well of the nights he'd spent on the Persian dunes with the stars sparkling above him. The fire roared to life soon enough, the flickering flames casting a warm glow upon the small space that surrounded him. He gestured slightly at the first with one offhanded wave of his wrist, "It's warmer, if you'd like." It was almost peculiar, playing host to another within his domain. His visitors were few and far between at best, enough so that the usually confident man felt almost anxious. Alexander did his best to shake off whatever sensation she managed to bring to him (because whatever it was surely had something to do with the demure female in front of him). Instead, he focused entirely upon bringing about her second wish. For some reason, Alexander found himself yearning to make the female happy. He wanted to see a simper paint her delicate features, to chase away the anxiety and fear she seemed to harbor though why he couldn't quite say.

He pulled a small sauce pan from one of his cupboards, maneuvering with practiced ease through the small kitchen to fill it with milk. He grabbed a bar of chocolate and various spices before moving to settle in front of the fire, fearlessly thrusting the pan into the fire. "You have to be careful with milk...or else it will curl." He spoke softly, his blue-green eyes finding the crystalline blue ones of the female. "Have you ever cooked over a fire?" He inquired, genuinely interested in the girl he found himself sharing the unexpected storm fall with.
