East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The moment the hunter walks in, I know what must be going on. I knew it would only be a matter of time before the Council found out about Red on the Water and sent someone in to scope out the place. He'll probably want to make sure we're not taking humans off into a back room somewhere to tie them up and drain them of their precious blood. Well the good news is that we don't do that sort of thing here. The humans that come here leave here fully intact with no wounds so word got around fast and other humans started coming out of curiosity, then they kept coming because of the great service and the amazing food and drink. Isolt is right at home in the kitchen for some reason but so am I so between the two of us, we try to keep the menu changing and the staff catch on quick and the people love the variety. I've only heard good reviews so far and we've had our fair share of critics since we opened.

I roll my eyes and shake my head as some of our more spineless patrons head straight to the back door when they see the hunter. He goes straight to the bar, sitting down and tapping his fingers on the bar while he takes a seemingly innocent look around. I watch him from the top of the stairs, having just walked out of my office when a nervous waitress stopped by to tell me trouble was on the way. I guess she caught wind of his conversation on the phone and knew he was heading to the pub so she decided to give due warning. That's the one thing about this place. Sure, some of the staff may still be new and learning but they got loyal fast when they found out the paychecks would keep coming and I'm not a mean boss by any means. When they're not dealing with me, they get the charming Isolt so it's a win-win. I know I've got their loyalty in the bag. They love this place almost as much as I do now.

As another waitress goes to walk past me down the stairs, I reach out for her arm gently and she turns her soft chocolate eyes up to meet mine.

"Bring him a drink, please. Off the top shelf."

She raises a brow but nods quickly enough and goes to fetch it while I hold my perch, just watching and waiting. I watch her pour the drink and bring it to him, her skills at socializing a little lacking since she walks right away without even starting up a conversation with him. i scowl a bit and make note of this for future reference but even so, I make my way slowly down the stairs as he murmurs to no one since she already ran off that he didn't order the drink. I walk up to the bar ad sit beside him even as he taps at the glass as if it'll turn black or pour out like blood. I put on my charming smirk, knowing it won't do much since he's not female but whatever. I can still play the polite card.

"It's one of our most asked for drinks, the Titty Twister. It's got so many different types of alcohol in it, I don't even know how to make it without a sheet to look at. Still, it tastes smooth as honey and it'll leave you with the best buzz you've ever had with just one sip."

I shrug a little and hold out my hand.

"I'm Damon, half owner of this establishment. You can choose not to drink it if you like but you might regret it later. I'm guessing you want a tour?"

My blue gray eyes twinkle knowingly as I wait for his response, letting my gaze travel the length of the pub for a moment to try to find the gaze of the most important person in my life. I can't decide yet if I want her to be a part of this encounter or if I want her as far away from this hunter as possible. My urge to protect her is about as strong as my thought that this will be good practice for her.
