East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Okay so it's cliche and totally unoriginal but I don't care. I can totally rock a Dracula costume. I have my fangs out and who's to say they're real or fake? It's not like I plan on letting anyone get close enough to tell, that is, unless they get an invitation. I've got the cape and the black tux and my hair slicked back. I think I look rather dashing, really but I guess the other guests will be the judge of that. Meanwhile I wonder if I'll run into that daring human girl who got between me and the hunters or the witch who approached me in the cafe. I'm starting to get some acquaintances in town but nothing more than that and it's a little depressing. It's bad enough that I can't find my maker since the last get together in town.

He told me he would call for me but he hasn't yet and I'm starting to lose hope. But at least I have my vendetta to chase. I'm still in Sacrosanct for a purpose and I plan on finding the bastard who killed my protege, Alice. I spent 300 years with her and though it's not so long to the immortals and nothing close to the 1000 years I spent with Taro, she still meant a lot to me. I wouldn't have turned her if she wasn't. Her death left a hole in my non beating heart and an anger I can't get away from. I was tracking a hunter last week with faint traces on him that mark back to the one responsible for her death and I decided to look up on it. When I saw him looking at an invitation to this costume party, I decided that I was going too, if only to catch him a dark room or alley and get some answers. Maybe I'm closer to the end of this chase than I first thought.

As I walk through the door though, I see that the place is already crowded and there's no sign of the hunter, at least not yet. But the night's still young so I give polite smiles and blend into the crowd. I don't see either of the women I've met but maybe I'll come across someone new tonight. That wouldn't be so bad. When I see a girl having an arguement with some guy by the bar, I find myself maneuvering through the crowd to get closer. She seems to be upset with him about something and though I could easily pick up the words if I listen close enough, I'm more interested in being her knight in shining armor, at least for tonight. And so I lean in and extend my hand. "Excuse me but I couldn't help noticing that you're not dancing." The invitation is clear, if only she wants relief from the situation.
