East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

Nadya could tell from Tobias' body language that her position atop the lounge chair affected him more so than her words, the way he stiffens and responds shortly with her. How keeping her safe from Risque is even remotely connected to her staying away from boys is beyond her logical. Only Tobias could ever see such a connection. Though she had been alone she had also been free, free to do as she pleased, talk to whom she pleased...flirt with who she pleased, without the worry of whether or not Tobias was getting into trouble with another witch, hunter, or terrorizing some poor vendor for their food. It wasn't like she really listened to Tobias before he got captured but there had been a certain understanding to treading around his feralness in order to keep the fighting to a minimum, if only to ease her brother's headaches when he was around. Her strike against him seems to cause him falter, never before had she struck him in human form, their fights having been restricted to feline form, but never before had she felt so betrayed either.

At first she thought her strike had caused him to rethink what he was doing in the way he shifted back from her, though the thought was short lived as Tobias suddenly moved forward, heat in his eyes as his weight joined hers on the lounge chair. Nadya stepped back quickly, her height advantage now gone, placed thoroughly in the shade of his shadow now. Her gaze flickered down to the piece of white plastic beneath them, feeling it stretch and shudder from the extra weight, far exceeding its maximum yet holding on for dear life. "Tobi..." Her tone was hard, warning for him to back away, her own body tensing in refusal to back away anymore, his advancement simply closing distance between them instead of causing her to back down. His fingers encircling her wrist, grabbing her in such a dominant gesture caused Nadya's anger to flare more, his shouts and demands that she wasn't allowed to leave hardening her gaze once more, glaring down at where he gripped her. "I don't belong to you or anyone! I am not your sister and I am not your mate! ...Mom and dad just took you in because they pitied you!" There was no control on what she angrily shouted back at him, tugging her wrist which he was gripped to, a part of her regretting it as soon as the words passed her lips. Some things were just said in anger and didn't really mean it, she knew her parents genuinely cared for the small boy when he had appeared, attempting to make nice with him and coax him from his wild side.

The plastic lounge chair gave a shuddering snap as it finally gave up on holding them, splintering beneath their feet in defeat. The sudden gap under Nadya's feet caused her heart to startle and not for the first time her instincts kicked in, the fire bursting through her veins as her feline form took over. Her change was happening quicker and quicker, mid-air leaps now finding her panther paws on the ground, which was a cool thing but it also came at times which she wasn't fully expecting like now, in situations that her animal side deemed it necessary to change. Her bikini was lost scraps of fabric as she threw her massive black jaguar form at Tobias to knock him back to the pool in the momentum, claws extended to make churned butter out of his soft flesh. It wasn't really a flaw in her plan as just a necessary side effect that by throwing Tobias backwards into the pool that she herself was going into the water as well. For a moment it all stood still, the fight falling away as she was engulfed by the cool water, her senses momentarily taken over by the silence that came from being submerged until her powerful back legs kicked back, using Tobias as a kickboard to launch herself to the surface. She was no stranger to the water, enjoyed it really, but she didn't really get to enjoy it with her anger still so fresh, peddling much like a dog, her head above the surface, yellow cats eyes glaring back at where Tobias fell.
