East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

In theory, In truth, Alexander had particularly little desire to explain what had just occurred to the demure girl in front of him, perhaps because innately he knew the embarrassment that surely would follow suit. After all, the young woman wanted to leave him after only expressing a vague likeness for his facial features. If she discovered he too was aware of her desire to be within his arms, to embrace him, to have his lips upon hers - he doubted very much she would ever return to the cafe at all. It was a ridiculous notion, of course, not when he found himself wanting her here. It was that lingering desire that caused the man to also want to fulfill the young woman's wish. He was all too aware of the tense fashion at which she stood before him, clearly prepared for the invasion that she had begun to associate with his touch. It seemed perhaps that she had begun to figure it out in the same fashion that he too had and yet, regardless of her taunt muscles, Alexander still found himself pulling the girl closer against him.

He watched the fashion at which her eyes closed in fear of what was to come as his hand landed on her waist, just as he too heard the audible gasp as his other hand hooked around the back of her neck. His lips pressed against hers and in that moment the man was quite nearly lost within the sensation of her skin against his just as much as it was absorbed by his mind brushing against her own thoughts. He felt the panic that ached through her veins, the questions, the confusion, the concern. Her emotions were so real, so alive that it grated against his nearly immortal placidity. It was funny really, how his lengthy life had somehow affected his capability to experience the full depth of such fleeting feelings. Still, Alexander hardly ignored those concerns that raced through her head. Instead he remained entirely steadfast as she begun to ease into his embrace, her figure melting against his as she tugged him closer towards her and yet he was very much aware of the still panicked state of her thoughts. He let the moments linger, hoping that perhaps his continued presence might somehow reassure her that he was still very much there.

It was only after several kisses later that Alexander pulled his lips from hers, his face hovering mere inches apart from her own fair countenance. His hand reached up from her neck to tuck her hair behind her ear, his thumb gingerly caressing her cheek. "Alexis... " He started, his baritone voice soft and surprisingly gentle. "I didn't know this would happen...If you want, I can stop touching you. No matter what you decide though, I'm not leaving, okay?" He wanted her to be certain that regardless of what happened next, he wasn't rejecting her. However, he was entirely willing to give her back the sanctuary of her own mind if it so distressed her to know that he was present in perhaps her innermost private place.
