East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

His words bring a shiver to my spine that has nothing to do with the temperature in the room. I feel my cheeks catch fire at the mention of our last encounter where he found his new gift of being able to see into my mind. "I guess I don't see a reason to anymore." I whisper back slyly, my brow arching upward ever slightly in a tease myself. What can I say? The drink has really relaxed me tonight. Of course when his brows suddenly crease in mild irritation, I can't help but follow his gaze and I'm shocked to see none other than Frost standing there. What does he want here? My brows furrow in puzzlement, even more astounded when he asks to cut in. I feel almost too intoxicated for this kind of conversation tonight because I'm not really feeling serious enough to take things the way Frost will probably ask me to.

At his comment, I just laugh. "I could say the same. What are you even supposed to be?" I smirk despite myself, eyes twinkling with glee. When I touch his hand, my reaction is immediate, my hand pulling back as if stung even as he continues to lead me away. "Ouch, cold much?" I all but scold him in a slightly slurred manner. As his hand finds my hip, I can't help but squirm a bit. "Easy there, stud. Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I giggle teasingly even as he pulls me in closer to speak. I purse my lips as he speaks, eyes narrowing slightly as I pull back. "I doubt he'll even think to ask about what happened that night since he doesn't know anything about it and I've already assured you I won't lie for you. As for our previous meetings, I don't really want him knowing that I slept over at your house and came into your room half naked to talk about fighting." My eyes sparkle with challenge, more willing to tease tonight. I blame the drinks but right now, I can't blame anything because everything is just a little blurry.

He leads me back to Alexander after a minute and I wonder what he may have picked up from our body language during that. My cheeks heat up again at the reminder of where Frost's hand was, my hip seemingly still burning in a not altogether unpleasant way. I glance between the two men as Frost speaks, introducing Alexander as a friend and the way in which he does it makes my brow arch as I cross my arms. "Okay, if that's the best you can come up with. Not that it really matters. As long as he's not the friend you kiss, it's perfectly fine with me." I giggle again, really outdoing myself tonight as I step closer to Alexander. It's in these moments that it's easier to see the centuries of experience beneath his belt because Alexander can be a blank slate when he wants to be, completely unreadable.

His flat words make me scowl. Is something wrong? He repeats the word friend dryly and my scowl only deepens, though when he talks about my title, I give a little bow to Frost as if it's expected. "And I don't even have to wear a little maid outfit." I blurt out, bringing a hand up to cover my mouth as I giggle again and lean into Alexander. I look up to find his gaze on me as if expecting something and my brows rise in puzzlement. "Alexander is my boss and Frost is my trainer. Is everyone properly introduced now? I think I need another drink...or a dance. I need something..." My voice trails off thoughtfully as I look between the two, wondering just how awkward this has to get before something happens.
