Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

That near azure blue of his gaze, so striking against the night and his own dark features remains held firmly upon the elder vampire with no small measure of wariness and too- distrust. Even if the other man had given away the knowledge of that power the sheer force of it would hardly be forgotten by the younger man any time soon. He'd deserved it, he supposed. Arlo perhaps a rarity among the vampire kind in his willingness to yield to his own mistakes. After all, he had survived this long by improving upon those errors and assuring he could continue to live that lifestyle and feed upon that specific blood his body seemed to crave. He had known that to target a vampire far older then himself was, well, maybe not his best idea and yet he'd let that hunger get the better off him as he did on occasion. He was still young, still learning in some regards. The dark-haired youth berating himself for this mistake and yet he would hardly make it again. It was merely fortunate that he had found perhaps the calmest and least aggressive vampire known to man. This fellow hardly seeming perturbed at all. In fact the man very near seemed amused by it. Arlo seeking to assure himself that this fellow wouldn't actually have slept with him. Surely he wouldn't have. It was just ruse right? The other man smiling easily as his arms fold across his chest, admitting that he had very much thought about, Arlo's apparent youthfulness having prevented any further action, both eyes lifting upwards in disbelief. His lip twitching in distaste now before the other man uttered his assurance that had things truly gone so far that Arlo would have more then enjoyed it. A scoff passing his lips now.

"You talk a really big game. Not that I....ah....need it explained further. I don't do dudes. Period."

He was quick to add. Just in case Malek was considering offering him any sort of demonstration. Arlo content to simply take the man at his word on those skills between the sheets. Malek offering that information as if it was simply fact rather than any sort of flamboyance. Arlo not uninclined to believe him. After all, depending on how old the man was he might well have had a century or more of practice in just that area. His own name was offered with some measure of reluctance and yet he supposed it hardly mattered now. He wasn't about to get away with this meal. Another night to go hungry. Great. The hand suddenly offered towards him was surprising and yet he reached to take it all the same, affording Malek that simple shake before leaning away. Arlo hardly the sought inclined to hold a grudge for particularly long. Those inclined to be decent to him were often met with decency in return. Even if he had so begun the night by attempting to attack the fellow. Pleasant vampires were few and far between. Arlo at least willing to afford this one some ounce of his company even if he remained suspicious of the motives behind it. That topic of his Maker perhaps the only one he was unwilling to venture upon. Patrick had been gone less then a year. That a wound that had hardly healed enough to withstand being picked at. Malek at least seeming to take the hint on that one and disregard it.

It was that offer to show him something better to hunt that momentarily saw his interest pique once more. Arlo eyeing the man again with some measure of suspicion as he pushed back that hood. Affording the other vampire a proper look at him for the first time and yet he hardly sized upon that offer. It would be just typical that this show off....pleasantness was nothing more then a ruse. His species was characterized by their ability to charm those around them weren't they? Arlo unwilling to find himself at the hands of a vengeful coven all over again. He remembered that night far too well. Malek's decision not to query him upon why he chose to hunt his own kind was met with the smallest look of curiosity. Did he truly not know? Then again, Arlo supposed, his own species of vampire was a dying breed. It would be wholly logical if, even in all his years, this man had never met anything other then those Sanguine Vampires like he was himself. Still, Arlo was hardly opposed to....hearing of what other methods someone so aged might have to teach him. Even if he was assured they would hardly be suitable for him. Hell, maybe they would be, who knew? At least he didn't appear to be with a coven.

"Well just don't....tell anyone from any coven I'm here alright? I'd like to stay for a while and they like running vampires like me out. You look alright for your age, I suppose. Isn't it hard finding anyone else your age to...I dunno.....play chess with or whatever it is people your age do?"

There was the subtlest notes of tease to the man's voice, a simper of sorts almost threatening upon his lips before agreeing to at least see this mans so-called hunting methods provided he didn't try any more of his....lust inducing power. Arlo assured he could be deliberately bad in bed if he tried and thereby make for a wholly unsatisfying experience not worth Malek's time. The other vampire apparently inclined to disagree, assured that he might well have much to teach him in this area too. Well, to be fair, he wasn't opposed to picking -up a few pointers in that area he supposed- although he hardly desired the demonstration to be upon him himself. Arlo allowing his eyes to roll slightly as the other man saw fit to laugh at him again before returning to that more serious matter. Suggesting, of all things, an animal.

"Are you serious? Dude, I'm not going to go out and murder a puppy or something if that's what you mean. Besides I'm not sure....I can even....well, I guess we'll find out. No puppies though or...kittens or pandas. I like pandas. As long as it's like a deer or something I'll...try but it might not...work."

Maybe he had finally found a vampire old enough to know what was wrong with him. His words a little unusual perhaps and yet, he was sure, Malek would understand in time.

"Where are we going then?"
