Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Samantha was sure that she could share in the confusion that her companion felt in the reason why these girls might have wanted her. Though, truly, she could never understand why they had wanted her in the first place. She had been a normal girl. There had been nothing special about her. And yet they'd laid into her life and ripped it to shreds. She'd thought she'd been free of them. After the week that she'd spent being tortured by them, she'd thought she'd seen the last of them when she'd woken up in this new faerie body alone. But that wasn't the case. No, they'd discovered she had powers that made her useful, and they wanted her back. The very idea of it made Samantha's blood run cold.

"I don't know," She said honestly, moving to rest her forehead against his shoulder. It was so steadying for the fae queen to feel his heart beating in his chest. "I really don't know, Dorian. They want to use me for something, but I don't know what use I would have to them." She sighed at the thought of the human police, assured they would be of no assistance to her. It wasn't as though she would be able to provide photos of the girls or anything that would help. As far as the Hunters council... "No, they protect humans. For all I know, they'd slaughter me on sight. Remember, they did kidnap you from your home with the intention of killing you. And I can't tell Aiden. I..." She trailed off, shaking her head. She didn't want to believe that he might be working with them, but Frost had been right about everything so far and she didn't want to chance it.

There was nothing to protect her, except perhaps Dorian himself. She nodded at the mention of his sword, even getting to her feet at the mention of it. Yes, it would be useful to have a weapon for the moments when she needed to protect herself. The very mention that he might walk her to and from work made her exhale. "I would very much like that," She said softly, moving forward to wrap her arms around the slender fae king. "I know you're capable... I just... I love you, and I worry about you... and I don't want anything to happen to you."

She let go of him after only a moment, watching nervously as he crossed the room to place the hilt of the sword within her hand. It was heavier than she expected, and she was sure she wouldn't be able to swing it. But it seemed that wasn't at all what he wanted her to do. He wanted her to jab forward, and the girl took a few careful strikes to get a feel for it. "I don't know that I could do that," She said very quietly after a moment, her shoulders slumping as she let the sword settle within her arm at her side. "I couldn't hurt someone. I... I'm not meant for this, Dorian."

She moved, handing the sword back to him before she let out a breath, her arms wrapping around herself. "I think I'd like it if you handled the sword and walked me to work, if you don't mind. I feel very safe with you, Dori. I can't imagine feeling any better than with you."
