Anacosta Heights

Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

It had been, well, kind of a while since Arlo had seen any vampire take the 'let me ask you for blood' approach, that sinking feeling within the pit of his stomach assuring him he knew exactly how well this was going to go. The vampire hardly surprised when that jogging fellow made some effort to simply take off out of fear (or to get away from the weirdo saying he was going to eat him). What Arlo had failed to anticipate however that release of magic and that utter lack of control Sebastian so attempted to wield it with. His efforts to bring back the fellow he wanted to eat resulting in nearly every being in that park pivoting in place to rush towards them. He hadn't even known this many people were here! What had been a single person readily turned into a veritable stampede of people jostling to get to Sebastian to....be near him or touch him or make out with him or whatever the hell it was they wanted. Arlo hardly having considered her wrong that power could go until here and now. God, they were going to crush him! His own efforts to wade through that crowd hardly saw him achieve any progress, Arlo managing to pull several people out of the way, lift a young woman to the side and haul a boy who couldn't have been more then fifteen out of the way. What was someone that young even doing out at this time?

He'd barely made it halfway into that crowd before that sudden shout for them to 'go away' seemed to have just that effect. Those people whom only moments ago seemed to believe Sebastian was the single most important being in their lives had seemingly decided they had to get away from him at all costs- Arlo near crushed himself in that resulting panic as people fled in all directions leaving Sebastian to tumble onto that ground dramatically and stare up at him with the declaration this was hard. Well, as long as one of them was having fun! Arlo could hardly help that scowl that crossed his features. The man content to tell Sebastian exactly what he'd done wrong. Not that it mattered now. The Englishman had likely used a fair bit of what had been left of his power. The chance of him hunting someone easily had diminished considerably. God, how did he get himself into these things! He'd done one nice thing, one and tried to walk the guy him and now they were in this right mess! Then again it was sort of his own fault to begin with he supposed. He had bitten Sebastian. The sudden movement to the side managed to grasp his own attention then, his gaze flicking from that black and rusty coloured puppy to the man on the end of the leash. There was one left! Thank God!

His own affinity eagerly embraced him, Arlo disappearing only to reappear to the side of the man, his teeth piercing into that flesh of his neck near instantly as that venom freely flowed again. He hated attacking people like this. It made him feel so damn....monstrous and yet if he didn't bring Sebastian something there was a chance they were never going to get home. Either that, or Sebastian would eventually hit utterly empty and murder the next person he saw. Arlo hardly willing to allow that either as he easily hoisted that semi-conscious fellow upward to lay him in Sebastian's lap. Meals didn't come easier then this he was sure. Sebastian, for his part, had become utterly obsessed with that puppy. The Elder vampire barely even glancing at that meal as that puppy bounded and leapt excitedly about as if Sebastian's pats were the world's most glorious thing and it could hardly get enough. Great. Now he had two overly excited beings.

"You can play with it once you finish dinner. Seb! Come on! You're not helping Fluffy."

That little creature merely glanced towards him at the sound of his voice before leaping back at Sebastian again, the man sitting on the floor apparently delightful to his puppy-mind as Arlo lowered himself to the ground in an effort to coax more blood from that felled man. He hated to do it like this really, hell, he'd nearly tried to wipe this memory from his own mind and yet he was running out of options. He remembered how Patrick had done it to him those years ago. Arlo determined to at least attempt to repeat that experiment as that blood coated his fingers. Sebastian's name hardly seemed to grab the mans attention, Arlo sighing once more before abruptly reaching out to yank on the elder vampires ear. That squeak that left his lips was all Arlo truly needed, the man reaching hurriedly forward to press his fingers to Sebastian's lips, forcing that blood into his mouth and over his teeth and tongue. Sebastian content to stare at him as if perhaps mildly horrified. Arlo oblivious to those thoughts of Dorian that turned within his companions mind before he hurriedly withdrew his hand. Well- he didn't want to get bitten!

Had it even worked? He'd never yet seen a vampire reject blood when placed upon their very tongue! Sebastian staring at him a moment longer before that taste so finally seemed to reach him. Arlo sighing in utter relief as Sebastian settled himself to actually feed, ignoring those neck wounds and biting into the mans wrist. Arlo whistled lightly then for that puppy, scooping it up into his arms just in case Sebastian wanted more blood instantly, the man not truly willing to see him bite a puppy after all. For several moments Arlo simply contented himself to watch and make sure Seb didn't take too much from the man, the Englishman abruptly lowering him only to glance up at him and complain. Arlo entirely sure he'd never been so happy to hear anyone bitch at him.

"Welcome back, bud. Christ, you had me worried for a bit there- I only bit you once! But that was like an hour ago, you didn't feed until now, you had more venom them blood in your system, the effects were stronger. I....er.....took more from you then I should have. Sorry- I guess."

His own shoulders shrugged in a 'well what are you going to do now' gesture. Sebastian still seemed a little....hazy and yet with that blood starting to dilute that venom he was at least likely to start feeling like his normal, less excited self. Sebastian rose easily to his feet a moment later, the man seeming a little unsteady and yet nothing like he'd been before, Arlo just beginning to contemplate where to hide that dog walker while he recovered- the fellow having been muttering any numbers of things for the past ten minutes. Seb's hand reached back for that puppy, rubbing its face softly as it all but attempted to wriggle out of Arlo's arms in the pure joy that was someone petting it. Those words upon his lips abruptly dying the moment Sebastian so suddenly decided to offer the semi-conscious dog walker four hundred dollars for his puppy! Who had four hundred dollars in their wallet?! More then that who just....bought a puppy off the street? Pianos, puppies, god Sebastian was unstoppable! How much of the venom was still in him? Arlo's own words cut off by the dog-walker then.

"Seb, I don't think..."
Yeah, yeah ok, man. I was....teaching him to.....like....guard my garage.
"Why on earth would you want it to guard a garage?"
Are you....a cop, man?
"No."
Then....it don't....matter

Great. They were buying some sort of criminal's puppy. Then again, maybe it would be better off with Sebastian then it was with this.....fellow. Arlo glancing briefly down at that excitable bundle of love within his arms before promptly deciding it didn't really look like it was ready to guard anything soon. It's owner apparently having no issue at all with selling it for four hundred bucks, then again how much of that was his own venom swaying his judgement Arlo hardly knew. His gaze glanced briefly to the side as Seb went about just casually pulling bills out of his wallet to pay the fellow for that puppy he'd just decided he need, Arlo content to start walking away before that dog-walker shouted out again. Hey, I know you! Arlo's own form froze then, his blue gaze searching the fellow's features and yet he was damn well sure he'd never seen this guy before. The man pointing at Sebastian then. I know you too! Great. They were going to be on America's Most Wanted for attacking him tomorrow evening, he could see it now. At least they'd paid for the dog.

"Look, bud. I really don't think you do."

Did he really recognise Sebastian? There was a chance of that, Arlo supposed. The internet only had eight million photos of him, some magazines and newspapers probably did to. God, this was how it started. This was going to turn into some international incident. H knew he was going to get arrested for something. The dog was something of a surprise but still he-. Yeah, Simon and Garfunkel. I love....your stuff, man. That almost audible sigh of relief fell from his lips then. The dog-walker clearly just, well, out of his mind. The high fellow flopping useless back into the grass then before exclaiming loudly about the stars above. Arlo gestured up that path then, the man keen to simply get them out of this area before anything else could go wrong. At least they were finally going in the right direction.

"Here, you wanted Fido, you carry him."

Arlo shifted slightly, holding up that wiggling ball of puppy delight to place him in Sebastian's arms as its tiny tail wagged so frantically its entire little rear seemed to shake. The puppy clamouring up Sebastian's chest to lick under his chin as if this was the most exciting adventure of its entire life. Alright, maybe it was cute. That grin tugging at his own features. The silly little thing was so damn happy! Another thought suddenly striking Arlo then as he turned to the man strolling beside him.

"Oh! Here, this is your music too. You...er....demanded I grab it before you tried jumping down a stairwell."

How much of that evening Sebastian actually remembered he hardly knew, that simper of amusement tugging at his features all the same. This would not be an evening he would forget in a hurry.

"Do I want to know why you decided you needed a puppy? Hey, do you know how to get home from here now? You didn't seem to know fifteen minutes ago. I mean I'll come with if you still need some help, you should probably grab someone else to eat as well, if you'd rather I didn't know where you lived or anything though I mean, that's cool, I can head back to my place."

Was it some sort of security risk to know where the king of Italy and his consort lived? Was that like....classified or something?
