Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

There was a distinct sense of pleasure in so hearing those musical notes that Sebastian himself had once hummed that very first evening they had ever danced with one another. Sebastian so having attempted to teach the Fae King that age-old waltz. A dance they had long since perfected since that night within the yard and yet there was a glorious sense of nostalgia so attached to that song all the same. Was it not perfectly fitting that the song they had first danced to as a couple should be the song they first danced too as husband and husband? The very idea of it stirring a grin to the Monarch's features. How he adored to remember that evening, even now, after all this time. Dorian so enjoying to consider how very far they had come in those near two years of courtship they had so naturally fallen in too. It had so never been his intention to court Sebastian, not initially, that night within the hotel Dorian had once believed to be the man's home had so been designed to be exactly that. A single night. One to be shared and enjoyed like so many other beings whom had come and passed within his life. How glorious that night had been, even if it now paled in comparison to those new lengths of pleasure they had found since. Dorian remembering it with a distinct fondness, just as he remembered falling asleep in those silken sheets, so breaking his very own rule of remaining in the bed of another after those intimate affairs had so concluded. Perhaps he so should have known from that single moment that Sebastian would not be alike any other lover he had enjoyed before. Nothing about the vampire had been forgettable in any sense. Sebastian having lingered upon his thoughts for days afterwards as no other being, man or woman, ever had. His simple, natural attraction to the man having been decidedly potent from the moment he had laid eyes on him. That relationship progressing so naturally, so easily, unlike any other the Monarch had ever had. Dorian assured he would change nothing.

That soft assurance from his lover that he too enjoyed the idea of that so becoming their song only furthered the warm simper upon the Monarch's own lips. Dorian quite content to picture just how that first dance as a married couple might look. His very heart content to flutter at even the thought! Those final few notes fading then, the sound of that fountain becoming all the clearer once more. Dorian's fingers reached for that aforementioned list then, bringing up those pages and pages of songs for his Consort to examine with him, Dorian tilting that screen towards him only for the vampire to promptly announce he altogether refused to walk down that aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D. It was decidedly rare for Sebastian to so firmly refuse anything at all with such assurance, Dorian so momentarily blinking in surprise and yet such a piece was decidedly unfamiliar to him at all even despite how popular a choice it had become in more modern times. That admittance leaving his lips only a moment later. Sebastian assuring him it was no more then the same eight notes repeated and that it was decidedly mundane.

The very idea that any part of their wedding, ceremony, reception or otherwise might be considered mundane was far to much for the Monarch to bare. Dorian scowling readily at even the mention of such a distasteful word! He quite simply refused to have any part of their wedding present itself as anything less than enjoyable, fashionable, tasteful and opulent. After all, the very world was sure to judge their ceremony from the colours chosen to the music to the vows recited and everything in-between. His finger brushed against that screen then, Dorian searching for that very song amongst the list in front of him before deleting it entirely. His head nodded in satisfaction before he made mention of those more modern songs the wedding co-ordinator so desired they might consider playing at their reception. If only to appeal to a younger crowd. Sebastian, in the least, seeming to recognise some of those more popular musical pieces. Dorian himself barely aware of even the names of the bands listed beside them. The Fae King so lifted his finger then, tapping one of the links provided, watching as that screen shifted to youtube. Dorian having only recently learned the joys of that particular website. His head tilted slightly once more as that new song begun to play, his features rapidly shifting into a look of bemusement at a song that appeared to be about very little at all- at least- very little that made sense. Sebastian so suggesting it was surely a song about breaking-up.

"Well, that seems a decidedly foolish song to have at a wedding. I agree. I shall have it removed."

That song was deleted in the same fashion as its predecessors. Dorian selecting another from that list only to be assaulted with a drumming introduction that was so very startling the man jolted in surprise before hurriedly closing the page. Heavens but what was that!? Surely people did not enjoy being startled? Was not music supposed to be a peaceful, relaxing pastime to be enjoyed? Perhaps this was why Sebastian had shown him so little 'popular' music. The sudden feel of Sebastian nuzzling softly against his neck in that silent, subtle reassurance was hardly unappreciated. Dorian chuckling softly before leaning all the closer to the vampire then. Sebastian's figure so decidedly warm against him. The vampires query on just who would perform at their ceremony seeing the Fae King's gaze met that striking blue off his lovers own with that assurance the royal choir would surely provide those religious hymns within the church. As for whom would play at the reception however, Dorian found he had little idea. That yet another choice to be made, it seemed, before that knock at the door saw the Monarch shift to pull that sheet up and over them in some effort at modesty despite Sebastian's general contentment to appear in near any state before those servants.

His hand reached out then to click another link, this one beginning with a far more pleasing acoustic guitar, that title so proclaiming it to be an acoustic version of a song Dorian suspected such a band generally played with rather a bit more noise. The Monarch rather surprised at the pleasantness off it before that sudden declaration from Charles saw his own eyes lift upward in clear surprise. To even consider Charles, well-dressed, stately, polite Charles, at a concert of any sort was near baffling, even despite Dorian's consideration that the man surely maintained a life outside of serving them. Any further curiosity the Monarch held upon that very concert however was lost in the wake of that wholly curious expression upon Sebastian's own features, the vampire staring at the screen with a clear consideration as Dorian reached out to let his fingers brush the man's forearm, commenting upon that curious name that guitarist and his Consorts own friend seemed to share. Dorian hardly anticipating they might well prove to be the same man. After all, Charles had described the death of that guitarist.

The sudden declaration from the vampire that this man was the very man he had befriended only furthered that frown upon the Monarch's features. Dorian leaning forward to eye that video more closely before that clear inquisitiveness seemed to find him once more. This....was not at all the sort of being he so pictured Sebastian to befriend and yet, he supposed, it was entirely Sebastian's choice as to that company he kept, let alone the notion that this was surely several years ago now. His lover assuring him Arlo no longer looked so 'punk rock'. Dorian blinking once more in surprise as the camera returned to Arlo himself. The Fae King eyeing that innumerate amount of piercings the man seemed to have in one ear.

"Is he still so....er....."

Dorian paused then, seeking to find an acceptable word for Sebastian's companion then, the Fae hardly wishing to afford his lovers friend any sort of insult.

"..adorned?"

He settled for at last, gesturing to those piercings. Such body decoration decidedly foreign to the age-old King and yet too, a part of him was near fascinated by such things all at once even if he remained decidedly unsure as to his own opinion of them. His head nodded then in ready agreement to that suggestion that they might ask the fellow to play at least one song at their wedding. Dorian finding himself decidedly more curious of that individual now. His hands reaching for that bottle of wine and those glasses as that song continued to play. It took but a moment to pour that first glass of red wine, Dorian handing it carefully to Sebastian then before pouring one for himself, his gaze drifting back to that screen only for that soft grasp of surprise to leave him.
"Love, do you know your friend has a tattoo on his....ass?"

That amusement readily found his features then, Dorian chuckling softly before pointing to that screen. Arlo's jeans decidedly low, far to low for practicality Dorian was sure, just enough of that other mans behind showing to expose what was clearly the beginnings of a tattoo of some kind. The Fae not quite able to make out just what it was. Another chuckle hummed softly within his throat then as that song finished, Dorian simply selecting the next one on that list and allowing it to play to afford them that dinner music of sorts before his attention turned to those plates they had been provided with. Dorian eyeing what was quite clearly a steak dinner. Even Charles, it seemed, so attempting to offer Sebastian something decidedly special for his birthday. His own steak far more cooked through then the vampires own and yet Dorian had long since learned off his lovers like of meat done rare. His gaze returned to the man then.

"I think I quite look forward to meeting you friend, unusual though he seems. Although I do hope he is not going to wear pants like that- or those shoes he had on in that video."

Such shoes, he was sure, would leave marks on their floors. Dorian equally as perplexed by ill-fitting pants and yet in that moment he hardly chose to question it further. His attention returned to that glorious dinner presented to them. An impish grin suddenly finding his features as he leant back against that headboard.

"Bastian, how long do you suppose it will take us to eat dinner?"

It was, he knew, a decidedly obscure question. The Fae so waiting for Sebastian's response before appearing near thoughtful once more. Dorian so allowing that near playful, dramatic sigh to fall from his lips.

"I suppose I can wait that long- but i quite think you should know....."

Such words were abruptly cut off, Dorian so leaning forward then to press his lips to Sebastian's own, such a kiss wholly sweet and yet, the Fae so allowed that singular gesture to become all the deeper and wholly more ardent. That renewed want surely blatantly clear before the man slowly leaned away. His words readily teasing then, Dorian so aiming to coax Sebastian right back into that state he so desired from him.

"....I think I might have another idea I should like to try tonight, if you think you can summon the energy and you are not to tired- of course."

After all, what else were birthdays for?
