Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

so why won't you just say it

if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
It was coolllddddd. She'd forgotten just how cold it was outside, after all, she usually was confined to that Red Panda form on her trip home, that russet fur altogether made for those lower temperatures than that silken human flesh. The young woman tucked herself into that eared hoodie, entirely oblivious to her best friend's view of her or his notice of that effort to keep the slightly too thin cotton material closer towards her frame. Those bright hazel eyes turned from the sidewalk ahead of her at the sound of her best friend's voice, the young woman opened her lips to protest only to find herself cut off with the assurance that he certainly didn't need it. "Really?" She inquired, almost baffled by this new found knowledge of Arlo's lack of....feeling. She hardly protested as she took that jacket from him, pulling it on top of her own to let the familiar material dwarf her. Her arms were covered by those sleeves and yet, Abigail was perfectly content in that large material. Rather, the girl was far too interested in this new found knowledge of weather to care too greatly about it. "Can you feel it when it's warm outside?" She inquired with her attention fully upon him. "Can you feel it if you touched something super duper hot? Like a pan! Or an iron? Not that you should. Don't do that, okay, Arlo?" She insisted, only seconds after considering it.

Truthfully, Abigail likely could have gotten lost in that conversation of things he could and couldn't feel, her own brain already considering it (Could he feel ice? What about ice cream? What did rain feel like? WHAT DID SUMMER FEEL LIKE?). Thankfully, Arlo redirected her thoughts instead to his own newfound friends, friends she too might one day have the chance to meet. That comment of the Chocolate man being well liked hardly registered to the young woman, the girl entirely missing that connection of his sex appeal. Rather, she was far more certain that she would like him too, after all, people weren't well liked without good reason! Case and point - this Petra lady that Arlo followed up his tale of his friendly adventures. She didn't sound like a very nice woman at all and probably didn't have as many friends as Mr. Chocolate Man. What she didn't expect, however, was how particularly baffled Arlo was that Miss. Not So Nice had shared that story of her creation when it was so particularly secretive....apparently. It was with a clear look of naivety that prompted the young girl to glance up at her companion, that singular inquiry of why leaving her lips. Why was this so surprising? Why was this story such a secret?

That soft sigh drew her gaze towards him, her eyebrows rose in a small glimpse of concern. Uh oh. What exactly had she asked? Abigail listened to that explanation of how his kind was made, the corner of her own lips twitched downwards in a small frown. She remained silent in those moments when Arlo's voice caught in his throat, the woman only just becoming aware that perhaps she shouldn't have asked such a question in the first place. Her hazel eyes turned towards the sidewalk ahead of her. It was during that moment he paused that Abigail interrupted. "I'm sorry Arlo." She uttered softly, altogether guilty that she had brought up what was clearly a painful memory for the man. She hardly bought that warm grin upon his lips in the wake of that serious conversation, the man's assurance that it all turned out okay was equally as doubtful and yet, Abigail hardly insisted on arguing the point. Rather, she purposefully turned that conversation back to the vampire that had prompted this, Abigail assured that Arlo should not continue his relationship with a woman who wanted to kill him. She wanted him very much alive.

She was truly thankful that Arlo was equally as keen to move the conversation onwards, the man instead inquiring after her own little home. Truthfully, she had difficulty deciding whether or not her home was large by this country's standards. She'd seen glimpses of the sort of homes that existed other places in the city, the sheer size of them simply dwarfed her own. Back home, her current house would have been HUGE. The best she could do to answer that inquiry was to point out a nearby home that was similar in size to her own. What she didn't anticipate, however, was Arlo's compliment that it looked clean. Her own brows furrowed as she considered it only to nod ever so slightly. "I suppose so." She responded with a small shrug, only to turn her attention to that large dog that so eternally seemed to despise her. That pathway to the park and across the street was so familiar to her by now, that walk one she had done every week for nearly a year. Still, she found herself delighted to see her own home so awaiting her at the end of that trip.

That compliment of her home brought a warm simper to her lips as she glanced back at him. "Thank you!" The girl responded, leading the way up the porch and towards the front door. It only took a bit of fiddling with the keys for the door to unlock and soon after Abigail stepped into the darkness of that home, pausing only to lock the door behind Arlo. The comment of the scent of her home prompted a grin on her features, though any words escaped her in that moment. It was almost peculiar, to finally see Arlo in her home. After the past year....she never thought he'd be standing in her living room. It was his voice that drew her from her internal thoughts. "Hm?" She inquired, only to listen to that very inquiry she'd forgotten about. Oh yeah. The sun. Bedtime. She shook her head ever so slightly, "The spare room is Daddy's bedroom, come on. You can stay with me. I have to get up in a few hours anyways but you'll be fine while I'm gone." She spoke, already leading the way up the stairs towards her own bedroom. She was totally not looking forward to getting up so early tomorrow. Maybe she could just.....skip class. It was certainly a thought she begun to toy with as she led him to her bedroom.

Her bedroom certainly was far more feminine than the rest of the home, the room was painted a light dusty blue, a small chandelier lit up the corners. Her bed was surrounded by sheer curtains, lit with small white fairy lights. As promised, those dark curtains hung over those windows, chasing away any glimpse of the world outside. She made her way towards the dresser, pulling out several articles of clothing. "Give me two seconds to change, okay? You can get all comfy though!" Abigail continued, bouncing out of that room to the attached bedroom. It hardly took longer than a few minutes before Abigail returned, those layers of clothing replaced by a single long black shirt and rather short matching shorts. Her hair flowed her back, her breath smelling of that hint of wintergreen from her toothpaste. Abigail could hardly help that yawn on her lips as she made her way towards that light switch beside the bedroom door. "Ready?" She inquired, those hazel eyes turned towards Arlo, searching for an answer before plunging that bedroom into darkness. Her feet slowly lead her across that room to her bed, only for the young woman to crawl into her bed, wholly enjoying that warmth of that bed and the comfort of her best friend at her side.
