Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

It was difficult, Arlo had discovered, to attempt to picture Sebastian in that era the elder vampire had come from. Exactly how old Seb was he hardly knew and he suspected that even if he did, with his rudimentary study of history, he'd be likely to imagine the wrong era all the same. Still, the idea that Seb's world had been 'very rigid' was, well, baffling really. Hell, he thought Seb was kinda rigid now. At least, when he was at home an behaving. He'd seen Seb pretty unrigid too after his own venom had flooded the other man's veins. Even the thought of that enough to see that amusement tug at his features. Still, if Seb thought something was rigid then it damn well must have been. It was the elder vampires thoughts on family though and his own 'family' with Abigail that truly seemed to strike him. He hadn't exactly considered Abigail that way and yet.....why hadn't he? Why shouldn't he? Maybe Seb was right. Maybe she really was the one and while maybe he wasn't exactly ready to face that reality just yet it didn't mean that he didn't have a family. Even just a really small one. Just Ab's and himself. That though, somehow, all the more comforting. At least if he didn't fuck it up with his over possessive tendencies that Sebastian seemed to insit were almost normal for their species. A tendency likely to lessen the more Abigail and himself settled into that relationship and the less likely he deemed every other living being around her a threat. He'd never considered himself a violent guy and yet he was damn near plagued with the thought of taking out everyone around him when Abigail was around. If anything it might be nice to not be so....er....touchy. Yeah. That worked.

Maybe if Patrick had lived longer he wouldn't have had to ask these questions to begin with and yet Seb was one of the only vampires he'd ever met who was willing to talk to him let alone listen to that endless plethora of nonsense even Arlo was mostly sure he went on with. He liked Sebastian and more then that, he trusted the guy too. Seb probably the only other vampire he'd ever really trusted. In the least the man was the first real friend he'd made in the years since he'd become one. These conversations, somehow, even when they were about being vampires- made him feel more....human. Arlo barely able to remember the last time he sat around with any of his human friends and talked about, well, all of it. Girls, music, the world, the shit they got into and everything in between. It was....nice to have a friend again. Even if Arlo saw little need to mention it. That wouldn't be cool.

Seb's insistence that those hissing episodes didn't exactly have to be hidden was something of a relief. Arlo almost pleased to learn Sebastian was no more immune to it then he himself was. The English vampire having become something to aspire to, almost. At least, the level of control Sebastian was capable of was impressive. Arlo taking some measure of belief that there was hope for him too if Sebastian was capable of those things. Even if he was mostly sure he was never going to be able to afford a house quite like this. Maybe when he was like....a thousand. That insistence that Dorian and Seb were one of the stronger couples he knew was entirely truthful. In fact, Arlo was mostly sure they might be the best couple he'd ever known. Maybe it would change as the years went by, he was hardly a damn expert and yet it was like he'd told Carolina. Seb and Dorian orbited around one another. They were...best friends, not just husbands and that was rare enough these days. Sebastian seeming pleased enough to hear it before Arlo queried just when exactly he'd known Dorian was 'the one.' That story he was rewarded with not.....quite what he'd expected.

"He...stayed the night and that's how you knew? Don't get me wrong that's great and all but I was hoping for something a little more, I dunno, useful, bud.

What exactly he had been expecting he hardly knew. Some telltale sign perhaps? Some super clear msg that this person was the one? Maybe it was different when it was two guys? Arlo shook his head lightly, that topic pushed to the back off his mind for now, the matter of those papers he'd brought far more pressing as he slid from the fence with that suggestion they might as well head back inside. Seb willing enough, it seemed, to look over them. He fell easily into step with the older vampire then, Arlo briefly eyeing that garden that surrounded them as they headed up the path, his socks already getting damp from the cold ground. How in the hell Seb managed to grow this many flowers he hardly knew. Maybe they were some special breed. He'd have to ask Abby. The very thought of his girlfriend prompting that sudden announcement that he'd come up with a theory about Sebastian himself. His companion eyeing him almost dubiously. Arlo determined to continue all the same.

Sebastian, for his part, hardly seemed surprised at the use of the word 'incubus'. Arlo suspecting the other vampire had heard it before. His next words very near confirming it as Arlo all but told him off for interrupting. The Crusnik offering that very theory that he wasn't an incubus per say but rather a hybrid. Part incubus. Part sanguine. With the traits of both. After all, Seb's powers, most of them, really did seem to fixate around attraction in one form or another. Having more then even one power that did that was, well, rare. Even Arlo knew that. The man finishing that very theory with a nod of sorts before his blue gaze turned almost questioningly to Seb to see what he thought of it. The Englishman silent for several moments before declaring he didn't have it quite right.

"Damn."
The word was muttered under his breath and yet he suspected Sebastian still heard it all the same. Arlo nearly sure he had been right in this. His gaze continued to linger on Sebastian then as the other vampire explained the rest of his powers, or at least, that not all of them were focused on luring people in. Still, it was that admittance that his Maker was no succubus and that she was very likely a virgin that readily saw Arlo's features shift into that look of bafflement.

"If she's your Maker she's got to be older than you though, right? I mean, a virgin?....seriously? After all this time!"

It was almost...insane to consider. Arlo oblivious, entirely, to the true nature of Sebastian's Maker let alone the very fact he had met the girl before. Arlo picturing a very adult woman and one whom had, somehow, remained celibate for like.....a million years. The Crusnik head shook in disbelief as they mounted those steps that led from the yard and into the house. Sebastian's hybrid status briefly forgotten in the wake of this information.

"I swear to God women are like...like....sexual camels. They can go six months without sex just like that. A year even. I don't know how they do it- at least not as easily as they do."

He snapped his fingers then as if to represent just how easily he was sure women could go without even thinking about sex let alone having it. It would be an eternal mystery to him just how women managed it. Arlo mostly sure he thought about it, well, a lot- even in an indirect sort of way. This a very conundrum he was mostly sure Sebastian would likely share. Arlo fell back into step with his companion then as they made their way to that dining room table Arlo had tossed the papers onto before, the Crusnik once more considering his companions species. Seb made a pretty good point really, maybe it was the other way around. Maybe he had always had the genes to be an Incubus and his Maker had sort of....turned them on? He'd have to run it by Abby. His own shoulders shrugging then.

"Either way, bud, your a hybrid for sure. I'd bet money on it. There's probably a way to test it if you wanted, you know, some sort of...science way."

What the 'science way' was he hardly knew and yet he was sure it existed. Not that it really mated in the end. He liked Seb regardless off his species. He might like him even more if he could help sort out that mess of paperwork he'd brought with him. Arlo at last gesturing to the stack of papers dumped unceremoniously in the dining table. Several notebooks peeked out from that pile and yet the majority of them were loose bits of paper, scraps of cardboard, several napkins and even the side of a cereal box with lyrics scrawled across the face of a cartoon pirate. Arlo looking mildly sheepish as he gestured to that stack.

"So...er....this is it. Most of it anyway. At least, all I had the chance to find. Like I said my parents weren't exactly happy to see me so Ab's and I had to move pretty fast. Most of its dated though, by some miracle, that helps right? I even have a couple of demo tapes, we'll need a cassette player though if you want to hear them. Is this enough to go to a court with?"
